Title: IGT SG-411p Keno Post by: videokeno on May 05, 2013, 06:11:54 PM I bought an old IGT Keno machine SG-411p MFG 5/84. It's in really good shape. The screen goes off color blue and has the diagonal lines running across it. Sometimes it flashes back to black. It's still usable but I was looking for some troubleshooting advice. Does anyone know where you can buy a manual? I know it's pretty old so I'm not expecting a whole lot. Thanks a lot.
Just a little update: I found where the problem is. The 1st video interface board on the monitor has gone intermittent. If I tap on it or push it sideways with a screwdriver the monitor turns to normal. It must have a broken solder joint. I am a computer tech, so I'll haul the monitor into my shop tomorrow for further investigation. Title: Re: IGT SG-411p Keno Post by: videokeno on May 17, 2013, 10:44:40 PM Solder joints repaired.

The program on the screen is the same as my PE+ running the keno chipset. This would make the monitor a Centronix 1401 If you go to their website they have a $45 dollar repair program. You send it in and they send it back. Age does not matter. Title: Re: IGT SG-411p Keno Post by: videokeno on May 18, 2013, 09:11:02 AM It's working good now, but I'm certainly going to keep that one in mind if the monitor goes blue again. It was a lot of work desoldering that card with the broken traces. Then we made a trace out of solid core wire and soldered it in place. I tried the circuit writer pen from RadioShack first, but that just burned up as soon as the CRT was turned on. Thanks for the info.

Glad to hear you troubleshot the problem and got it done! |
