Title: Static in sound output
Post by: vapormountain on May 12, 2013, 11:06:20 AM
Have this older , 1997 I game round top that has a lot of static out the speaker ( like a bad input connection) especially after start up for the first 5 minutes then quiets down some . The sound levels  are very low even after being turned all the way up in the menu.  Anyone else have and solve this problem?  If I could find the amp I would be further along, anyone know where it is in this type?

19" crt

Thanks

I haven't seen one that old in a while but if I remember correctly there isn't a sound amp on those. I would probly first checkout the speaker first if it isn't the speaker my next guess would be the MPU board or sound board if it has one on the MPU.

I had that issue. My solution was that it was because of a bad florescent bulb in the top cab.

That is a good idea to try unplugging light fixtures/candle even your monitor or power supply could be causing RF because of a bad cap.

can tell you for a fact after driving a Truck for too many years, any light on the truck of trailer that has a bad ground will produce all kinds of noise through the CB radio. Now I didn't say no ground, I said bad groung where the light bulb flashes on and off.
