Bally uses 2 SafeRam Clear chips which go into the main chip sockets. If it's an S5500 or S6000, then press and hold the test and pseudo coin buttons when you turn it on with the clear chips installed. What shows on the display while you do this?in and still get the 83F error. did i buy the wrong clear chip? did i screw up the ram? how do i determine the model of my machine? any help will be appreciated. thankyou nsmith2901 Thanks, Wayne Title: Re: problem with bill validator Post by: nsmith2901 on May 17, 2013, 12:21:51 AM hi wayne

Title: Re: problem with bill validator Post by: nsmith2901 on May 17, 2013, 02:35:01 PM thankyou for your help. i will try and find a correct clear chip. can you recomend a dealer on the net? do you think i have
damaged my board by using the wrong chip? Title: Re: problem with bill validator Post by: FORDSBS on May 17, 2013, 03:17:17 PM I think you should get a manual so you know how to clear & how to setup after you clear.
Title: Re: problem with bill validator Post by: Buzz on May 17, 2013, 05:00:40 PM If as you say you have a Bally 5500, please post the numbers on the eproms located at U3, U4, u12, and U15, note they will all have the same number. If by chance you have a set with the number 920000 you will not need a set of clear chips. Back when I was messing around with Bally 5500 I would change those (4) mains to the 920000 just to stay away from clear chips.
