Title: Cherry master won't stay on, have to hold in power switch?
Post by: maddog1331 on March 21, 2009, 04:13:28 PM
Hi everyone, I am trying to repair a Cherry Master for a friend of mine.  I know little but he knows less, so ah well here goes:

We tried replacing the bill acceptor on the machine (I think it is a Cherry Master 96 but has progressive bonus), the plug fit fine but the machine would not stay on.  Looking at the bill acceptor we were using the wires were not in the same pattern (the plug fit fine, but the wires did not all match up like they should).

So anyway, the power switch is on the inside of the machine.  If you hold it in, the machine will stay on.  As soon as you let it go, the machine shuts off.  It worked fine before we tried the other bill acceptor, I expect we have burned something out but have no idea what.

Do any of you have any information on this, or know of a forum that deals with cherry master repair?

Many thanks for any info!

Actually I have figured this out :)  Well, with some help!

This particualr switch (which is right beside the fuse) has some sort of fuse in it, if something goes awry it goes out.  Bypassing it will allow the game to still work, but we are going to buy new ones.

Actually that switch is a security switch, if someone opens the machine it powers down.
