Title: Trouble with Light Behind Reel Touch Reel Glass Post by: Captain Hook on May 24, 2013, 03:19:16 AM I have a Denver Duck Reel Touch and the light went out behind the Reel Glass.
I figured no big deal and went and bought a new fluorescent bulb and put it in. I turned on the machine and the light came on but it seemed brighter then usual and the light seemed to be swirling around inside the tube. After a couple minutes the light went out and only the ends of the tube seemed to light up. I shut off the machine then turned it back on again and the light lit up but it did the same thing again. OK so now i figure the ballast must have a problem so I replaced it and it still does the same thing so now I am running the machine with the bulb removed behind the reel glass. Any ideas????? Might have damaged the new bulb with the old ballast

(off topic) Did your Duck come with nice strips, I've been looking for about a year for strips with NO luck, and mine look like they were baking in the sun for a year. Title: Re: Trouble with Light Behind Reel Touch Reel Glass Post by: Captain Hook on May 24, 2013, 10:31:44 AM Ok I will buy a new bulb and try it.
As far as my reel strips when I got the kit it came with brand new reproduction strips. The strips look fine. My only problem is my machine has 2 inch wide reels and the reel glass I got is for 2 1/2 inch wide reels so the reels dont line up in the glass. Therefore I have been running the old Bucks Ahoy reel glass in it. Last time I posted about this nobody had the correct reel glass. Anyone????? (pun intended), but I keep looking.

I guess the Old new bulb was bad or the Old ballast somehow ruined the bulb. Anyway thanks for everyones help. Captain Hook Title: Re: Trouble with Light Behind Reel Touch Reel Glass Post by: lindam1 on May 24, 2013, 03:21:25 PM Aye Aye Captain
