Title: Universal board? Post by: Slots_007 on June 05, 2013, 11:47:28 AM Have a Universal Double Jackpot and while stripping down/cleaning the machine I noticed the 8116-A1 board is getting VERY brittle, one of the 4 screws is stripped so I couldn't completely remove the board. Turned it upside down and had the board hanging on by the one stripped screw and the board flexed a bit (this shouldn't have caused any damage to the board, right?).
My biggest concern, if the board ever cracked (near the area where it plugs into the backplane) could the board be repaired or would I be SOL? I would like to purchase a backup board for this machine just in case the 8116-A1 that's inside it now decides to bite the dust someday since parts are drying up for these machines, would a 8800-A2MK board be a suitable replacement? Or would I need to find a 8116-A1 board? Also, where can I get a complete extra set of chips for the Double Jackpot game? Thanks! Title: Re: Universal board? Also need the three wire harness from power supply to 8800 board. Also need 8800 game, system, and sound chips as they are different than the 8116 chips. Best to stick with the 8116.
I would suggest picking up an eprom burner so you could copy the chip files and burn replacements when needed. I may have Double Jackpot game files but would need to check. But I don't have spare eproms to write to at this time. Would need to know your game number. |
