Title: Game King 17" Coin In Chute - Which one?
Post by: Al Jr on June 15, 2013, 04:51:46 PM
Hi again all,

I recently finished getting a hopper working and installed in my Game King 17" upright, along with a Full Coin in mechanism with CC and diverter.  Everything is working at this point besides sending coins to the hopper (they go right to drop box), due to a pretty basic problem.  I can not get the coin chute I was supplied with this setup to fit under the diverter between the belly panel.  At this point I am wondering if this is the wrong coin chute.

I have this one:
http://rudysdeals.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1927&search=igt+chute (http://rudysdeals.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1927&search=igt+chute)
But my belly panel seems to be different then all the manuals & parts diagrams I see online.  My belly panel is pictured below.

Does anyone know if I do in fact need a different chute for my setup?  Maybe this one?

I can't seem to follow the first link you posted but the one in the second link is the correct coin chute for a 17" gameking

Hi thanks, sorry I didnt notice I made a mistake with the link.  I fixed it now just so you can see the type I have currently.   Seems like it is the wrong one.   Is that the one for the 13" Game Kings that I have now?

Thanks

the one you have will also work with s2000 or 19" gameking cabinet I'm not shure about the 13"

Right chute, wrong chute, No chute   the chute isn't going to cause the coins to go to the overflow.  Unplug the diverter ( Not needed anyway ) or tie the diverter open with a tie wrap. ( casinos tie them open quite often ) Until you figure out just what you need, tape a piece of cardboard in place to make the coins go to the hopper.

The top link not only does that one fit a S + it also fits a S 2000, 19" Game King and a 17" I Game and I'm sure there are more that it fits.

Those would only fit a 17"cabinet if you cut off the top, bend it, and drill the mounting hole out to a bigger size. And I think without a coin chute the coins would fall into the overflow wether the diverter was on or off. The cardboard isn't a bad idea until you get the correct chute.

OK so maybe I'm wrong but I've never seen a 17"gameking with the regular chute

Brian  I'm going to regroup and take back half of that flag. The half your going to keep is your statement that with no chute the coins will go to the over flow, NO they will just fall into the bottom of the machine.

In my living room I have (6) 19" Game Kings and one 17" I Game. All have coin handling except the I Game. All the 19" have the small chute that's used on a S+ and a S 2000. At first glance it looked to me like the small chute would fit on the 17" but if you look at the top picture posted in this thread you can see a whole lot more is needed than just a coin chute. For one thing the spring loaded plunger that goes into the bottom of the comparator bracket is missing. That plunger is in the second link he posted, will that assembly work on a 17" I'm now not sure one way or the other.

Here's a little tid bit for you, the inner door panel from a S+ is the same as a 19" Game King.

Ok I know the 19" is the same as an s2000 but the 17" is different. As to the coins falling to the overflow, I have had to wire tie a coin meck to the door because something was out off wack before to make the coins hit the chute and go to the hopper not the overflow. Also the default unpowerd position of the diverter goes to the hopper, so unless the spring is missing from the cylinoid, or it's stuck, coins should go to the hopper when it is not powerd on.

No hard feeligs

Al Jr. - The second picture in this thread looks like what might be needed for a 17" GK ?

http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=19844.0 (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=19844.0)

Only reason I noticed is because I just picked up a 19" very, very old GK that is missing the comparitor, diverter and shoot and was looking for what is needed.

Hope it helps.
