Title: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 08:43:25 PM I just got a Bally S6000 that had no main chips. I bought all of the chips needed for the board, did a full ram clear, now when i turn it on the disclaimer message plays but nothing else happens. The red light next to the reset buttons flashes.

You put chips in with notch correct way? You do not have any bent legs on chips? Do you have any codes? Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 08:57:30 PM Very careful with the chips, yes they were in the right way and no bent chips. the clear ran fine just like the instructions that were sent to me. it says after I put the mains back in the reels will go to position one. that never happens and there are no codes anywhere. the front display is all blank with the mains in.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 09:02:40 PM Could it be possible that the U28 and U43 chips were labeled backwards and they are switched? Can I switch them and try or could that mess them up
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: FORDSBS on June 15, 2013, 09:15:04 PM When you did the clear did you get the CL in display & hold buttons until deck light flashed?
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 09:24:09 PM Yes I did
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: FORDSBS on June 15, 2013, 09:27:08 PM If you got the CL & lights flashing on button panel then your clears should be OK.Next thing to look @ would be mains.
Your battery is good? Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 09:39:29 PM battery is 3.52V. is there a test for the mains?
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: FORDSBS on June 15, 2013, 09:41:38 PM Did you talk to guy you got mains from? Are they oem or copies?
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 09:42:14 PM copies
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: FORDSBS on June 15, 2013, 09:43:42 PM I'd talk to whoever you got them from.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 09:45:18 PM Will do
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: FORDSBS on June 15, 2013, 09:48:42 PM We are all human & make mistakes. If @ any point you had a chip in backwards it's finished. As I said we're all human. I've been working on these for several years & a few wks. ago was working on machine while talking to customer & I fried a set.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 09:52:14 PM I was very careful putting them in. They cost too much to be in a hurry. I will talk with the guy I got them from
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: FORDSBS on June 15, 2013, 09:56:13 PM Did you check on board where it slides in & make sure there are no bent pins?
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 10:08:51 PM Yes. Had that problem with s2000 once.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: FORDSBS on June 15, 2013, 10:12:44 PM The fact that whoever you got it from had chips removed is indication that there might be another problem.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 15, 2013, 10:17:29 PM Thanks. Now I have a place to start.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: lindam1 on June 16, 2013, 12:16:43 AM I do a lot of 6000's. My money is on bad mains, 99%. Get a new pair. If you got a good clear, the main would work if they were good. when you get the new ones do another clear first.
Lindsay Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 16, 2013, 12:19:51 AM I was wondering the same thing if board was good would the clear work. I also checked all switches and jumpers all are good.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: lindam1 on June 16, 2013, 09:02:49 AM If you don't have one, you should download an S6000 manual so you you can see all the dip sw. and 11d settings. If you get working mains you'll be able to set up your machine.
Title: Re: S6000 nothing happens after full ram clear Post by: gposing on June 16, 2013, 06:43:12 PM Got the book last night and checked all switches and jumpers.
