Hey everybody!
 First time posting here but I have already learned a ton about this machine from this site over the last month or so.
I recently picked up an IGT PE+ slant top double double bonus poker and I would like to enable the Double Up feature.
I thought it should be available for this game but I am not really sure. I looked through the self test menu's and I did not see it as an option.

Here is some of the info about the game version that I see in the menu.

Data Prom ID:       X002070P
Game Prom ID:     XP000023
Character program: CG2185

I attached a picture of the game PCB if this helps, Also can you tell me if this is a super board or just a standard board.

It's been a while since I have worked on a PE+ machine,
but I think you need a set 38 chip to change the settings.
Just put A WTB: ad in the classified section
There are many vendors on here that have what you need.
Good luck with your machine!

just open lid with machine on hit little white button and scroll through settings . when you come to double down hit deal button to enable it . scroll to end close lid its done ..

hit the white button go to:

SETUP / GAME SPECIFIC OPTIONS /  DOUBLE UP OPTIONS / SELECT THE GAME / SELECT THE PERCENTAGE / HIT ON ENABLE,   

also there you can select the type of double up you want, to finish hit on SAVE.

Hey Thanks for the quick replies.
Rocket,I have tried that and simply do not see the double up option there or the settings that argelisho mentioned.
I see the other options for denomination,currency,color test patterns etc just not double up.
Is it possible that its in the dip switch settings of the game PCB?
Kind of strange,I fired up a slightly different version of the game in the MAME emulator and I see the double up in the self test menu using the emulator.
I only had access to the ROM labeled X002069P and not X002070P which is what my machine says its running.
If anyone has any thing else to check let me know.I thought the set chip was just for the bill validator but if I need one for this I will get one.
Can anyone confirm that my board is a superboard?

Isn't Double Up controlled by a dip switch setting on PE+????? (I know, now your gonna ask which one(s)...and I'm gonna have to go dig it out of a manual somewhere....somewhere is the keyword here....)

Ok...I know (well, you should be, anyway!) impressed with our response time on this one! We pulled a Superboard out of a PE+ in the gameroom and the dip switches reveal.....


ALL ON!!!!


And we ABSOLUTELY, 100% POSITIVE, HAVE DOUBLE UP ON THIS GAME!!!

I am very impressed with the speed of tours and all the responses.
The machine is at a different location then where I am now so unfortunately I won't be able to test the switch settings until tomorrow.

I do remember looking at the switches and seeing that mine were all off so I will change them in the morning and let you know what happens.

Ok changed the dip switches on game PCB from all off to all on.
Still no option for Double up.

That is what I am looking for Rocket but am not finding it.
I listed the list of menu items in the order that they show up in my self test menu and it is not there.
Can you tell which item on yours that it was before or after?
I can modify other items with jackpot key but that one is simply not listed.
I am thinking about buying different game eproms,I am starting to think that there is something different with these.
I've been through that menu 100 times and there just is no option for double up like in your screen shot.

I attached an image of the PROMS.
Looks like they are all CG 2185

I wish it was a multi-game but it is just double double bonus poker(Thats what the glass says).
I may look into doing that not really sure what my options are.
Sorry about you hitting your head and thanks for all the time that you have spent helping me.
Just a side note not sure what the payout percentage on this machine is but just in last couple days that we have been working on this I have hit the Royal (Pic Attached)and 4 Aces

out of all the poker programs out there that i have seen and used over the past 20 yrs that LITERALY
a handful dont support double up

Well,I guess that explains it.Thanks for checking into that for me.
I still like the game but I may look into converting it to another version or maybe a multi- if I can.

I think this was mentioned earlier, but didn't read that it was confirmed ... some settings are only available with NO CREDITS on the machine.  Did you also make sure you had no credits before accessing the menu?  Sorry if you did and I missed it ... long thread ... long night ... long drink.  :-)

Hey, even the experts are entitled to a vacation every now and then -- I was busy helping to bankrupt the Las Vegas casinos until today.  :)

Okay, after some exhaustive testing I was able to confirm that X002070P does support double-up.  The option is in the self-test menu screens as described by others -- it's right after the color test, dots, crosshatch, and color palette display.  It will display with credits on the machine.

I do not have the XP000023 GAME chip to test with, however, and I'm wondering if that's what's different between my setup and yours.

Do you have a different GAME chip you can try in place of the XP000023?  I was using XP000038 with the X002070P DATA chip and I had the double-up option.

That's where i thought it should be and it's not there.It goes straight from the color palette display to Paytable.
I do not have any other game boards or chips for this machine.
Not sure if it's out of line to talk about this in these forums or not since I am very new here so let me know if it's not and I will edit this post to remove it.
I do have an Eprom image file for the XP000038 chip that you were testing with,can I just burn that to a chip to test to see if that's the difference?
looks like that's using a 512k chip not sure if I have any of those blanks on hand or not I have mostly 64k or smaller for vintage arcade machine repair but pretty sure I have some 256k chips.
I have a pe+ set chip if I need to re-enable the BV or change currency option.

Well, since you're talking about the legitimate backup copy of the XP000038 you happen to have... :P  :P  :P

Yes, you could just burn that on to a chip and you should be good to go.  Although I have a bunch of PE+ knowledge, I'm very green when it comes to chip burning -- I have a chip burner, but I've never used it (go figure).  It looks like the file for the XP000038 is 64k, but I'm not sure if that means it'll fit on a 64k chip or if you need to have it on a bigger chip.  What size chip is your current XP000023 chip?

I haven't pealed the label off the chip to check but there is a 512 on the label and the file is 64K so I think it will require a 512k EPROM.
It's a little confusing cause the file is 64KB(Kilo Bytes) and a standard chip like a 27C512 is 512kb(kilo bits) so to store 64K bytes I would need 512K bits (64x8).

Thanks for your help I will let you know how it goes when I scrounge up the chip to test it on.
Just seems strange that the game is called Double Double Bonus Poker but it has no double up feature.

JUST A SUGGESTION ,
post in the WTB a multi game poker set  there cheap money . I may even have a spare set of "IGT"  "ORIGINALS " we can talk about price.
 I am sure one of the top vendors has a set at a reasonable price you can try .  that way you have 5 games to pick from.
the one I run has BONUS POKER---BONUS POKER DELUXE --DEUCES WILD -JACKS OR BETTER -DOUB BONUS POKER -ALL WITH DOUB UP .  you have the super board already so your good to go .

Success!! Replaced the XP000023 chip with the XP000038 chip after figuring out the right combo to clear the CMOS data error and using the set chip to enable the BV double up is officially working! Thanks for the help everyone especially Rocket and Knagl,
Hey Rocket I would like to get a multi-game set.If you have one that you want to sell just PM me what you want for them I'm sure we can make a deal.
If you don't have a set I'll probably do a WTB.
After this thread you know what should work with my setup so I would feel pretty good about getting a set from you.

 :244-  Nice job!  Way to stick with it!  Glad to hear it's working.

"Double Double Bonus" refers to the paytable and the increased awards for special 4-of-a-kinds, and has nothing to do with the double-up feature.  Even standard Jacks or Better can have the double-up feature enabled.
