Title: X-rays and Chips Post by: dale on March 24, 2009, 06:56:36 PM This is a newbie question: Can reel, game and clear chips go through airport security X-ray without damage?
Title: Re: X-rays and Chips Post by: StatFreak on March 24, 2009, 07:07:31 PM That depends on whether the guards stomp on them after they're discovered. :25- :25- :97- :97- :97- :97- :97-
The low output X-Rays shouldn't affect them. After all, people take their laptops and other devices with IC's through there all the time. EEPROMs are erased by exposing them to intense UV light for several minutes, so there should be no issue there either. Of course, if I'm wrong, someone will correct me. :79- Title: Re: X-rays and Chips Post by: tjkeller on March 25, 2009, 12:38:42 AM Of course, if I'm wrong, someone will correct me. Nope, I gotta say Stat, you are dead on the money. These chips will indeed get damaged if the Guards stomp on them! :97- as far as the rest, methinks you're right there too! |
