Title: How do I fix my stupid 777 black gold Bally's machine
Post by: winglover1 on July 03, 2013, 01:17:17 PM
Make Bally's
Model S63U3N110
SN S941116301
MFG DATE 11/94
???  7483/BM7 500

Help me Mr. Wizard!   :131-

First of all, please pardon my ignorance on this machine. It is recently acquired and worked fairly flawlessly for several months. Other than the bill reader getting jammed a few times and not reading the new 5,10s and such....

Now it just sits there with 81 in the paid window.

There is a sheet inside that say's S5500 exception codes:

Code 81 says low battery

So I thought I would be clever and gator clip in two rechargeable AAA batteries in series for 3 volts to the existing battery to see if this would help...

Q: Will this work? So far it still just sits there, but I'm not sure if there is voltage on that circuit to even charge the batteries

Q: Anyone have a good source for the 3.6 batteries?

I press the reset button and the bill changer makes a noise, but the reels don't spin.

Pseudo coin doesn't do anything either.

Given the make and model, can someone recommend the service manual and modules i should get and a source if you have one. There is tons of stuff on eBay, but I don't want to order the wrong thing.

Oh... I just noticed that one of the leads to the door optical sensor or emitter is broken. Crap!
Can this be bypassed? I vaguely remember seeing post about wiring something to the cherry switch.

HELP!

Thanks in Advance
Bill

I believe your manual is available for free in the NLG File System Downloads section (top right of page - blue navigation button). Here's a link:

As far as the battery, try one of the vendors on the home page or pick one up off eBay. No recommended source really, just whatever price and shipping combo suits you.
