Title: Re: igt s2000 netplex display link down Post by: brianfink on July 06, 2013, 11:48:23 AM If you have already swaped out the power supply, with another known working one, then you should probably try swaping out the MPU, and see if it goes past netplex link is down into testing memory.

Title: Re: igt s2000 netplex display link down Post by: timm on July 08, 2013, 11:59:20 AM You may also try your seven segment board. It is part on the netplex channel and can cause some grief. Usually when that is the culprit it generally will show the failure, reboot, and continue in that cycle

All Door and Cabinet I/O Boards are on the SENET bus Door devices connected to Door I/O: All player buttons, Coin handling (comparator, optics, drop diverting solenoid) multi-line lamp and most likely other multi-line displays 7 Segment display is a separate SENET device, the 6-6-3 also has the touch pad interface chips. Cabinet devices connected to Cabinet I/O: Jackpot Bell, Hopper, Handle, physical accounting meters, W-2G jackpot switch, Candle Back lighting controller is also a separate SENET device (the connector on the I/O card is a pass thru connection) Aux SENET (in top box) 7 Segment Progressive display and other optional devices. Netplex bus devices VFD, Bill Validator, Printer, Spectrum I or II Progressive Additional devices can be either SENET or Netplex depending on how IGT wants to interface them to the MPU A clue that something is on the Netplex interface is the data wire colors are green with stripe on them Look at the VFD and the BV harness from the machine SENET uses different colors. Title: Re: igt s2000 netplex display link down Post by: lencinas on October 24, 2013, 06:45:40 PM I have a flashing red light on mpu and the fourth led on mpu blinks with red light at same time and then goes away
Title: Re: igt s2000 netplex display link down Post by: crgadyk on October 24, 2013, 06:54:06 PM In my experience, it sounds like you have a bad MPU. I had a couple bad ones that gave me the same kind of errors and had the red light on the board. I tried replacing just about everying in the machines with known good parts and the only thing that fixed it in my situation was a new MPU.
Title: Re: igt s2000 netplex display link down Post by: lencinas on October 24, 2013, 08:26:23 PM thank you i will try that
Title: Re: igt s2000 netplex display link down Post by: Ryan on October 24, 2013, 11:12:04 PM I had the same problem , I replaced the green varta battery 3.6v on the mpu board and it worked. if your MPU board displays red light the replace the MPU board and check if the green battery on the new board is 3.6v.
Title: Re: igt s2000 netplex display link down Post by: cowboygames on October 24, 2013, 11:20:40 PM That would only matter on a 1270 board. The 500 series don't need that battery anyway. Unless of course it was shorted, then it could hurt a 500
