Title: No Sound on Vision
Post by: rjpohl on March 25, 2009, 08:47:39 PM
I have a Vision Double Diamond Deluxe w/o back lite reels that had sound and was working great.  I installed a set of back lite reels, new reel hardness, board, etc.  The machine works but has no sound.  I noticed that there are group of wires that come from the LCD and bundle up and not connected laying the top of the machine.  There are 3 plugs with a 4 wire plug on each.  I'm pretty sure this is the problem but haven't be able to determine where they connect.

Thanks
Bob

Just installing backlit reels should have no cause for you to loose sound  :103-  Did you check your settings to make sure sound is on  and check the molex plug on the backplane board to see if it got bumped and is seated.

Thanks for the info, I didn't think installing back lit reels would cause sound problems.  It had sound before I made the change so I must have jarred something loose.
I did check the sound and it's set to volumn 8.  Is there a place to actually turn it on or off?

Some sounds do come from the top unit on a vision I believe but the standard base sounds still come from the bottom mpu and controlled by the options menu settings, master volume, money, reel spin.   If it was working before and master volume on 8 it should be ok.

If you have the option sheet or stumble through the VFD list and go to I/O I think you should find sound test and there you can see if you have anything.

Where you up top by those cables you mentioned before you lost the sound?   Maybe a few pics and somebody more familiar with a vision can chime in.

:88- A working slot is a good day but a jackpot is better ( when you have sound) :89-
