Title: Bally ProSlot 6000 battery question
Post by: rrebel98 on July 09, 2013, 01:28:32 AM
What is life expectancy of 3.6volt Lithium battery on mainboard ? I had to replace mine after 1yr in my slot machine (read less than 1vdc before removal). Just went thru the safe ram clear misc programming etc and my slot is once again fat, dumb and happy.  I do switch the game off when not being used but it is left plugged into a wall outlet 24/7. Do I just plan on replacing battery once a yr  ? Any advice thoughts welcome... Thanks

Do not leave credits on the machine when you turn it off, that will help conserve the battery life.

It takes more battery power to save the number 80 than to save the number zero? Either way, it has to remember the exact number of credits it had when it was powered down, and zero is still a number.

I recall others posting that the S6000 likes to eat through batteries when it's off. Knock on wood, but I haven't experienced that firsthand.

I just purchased a Ballys 6000 pro  slot.  It has the 88ff error displayed.  I did send for the clear ram chips. Now could anyone tell me where I can get a battery holder for a 3.6 battery. I've saw some with wires on each end, but I would like one I can solder to the board. Any help would be appreciated.

The 3.6v battery is available in AA size and they have the  holders at Radio Shack.
Some members have wired 2 holders in parallel and mounted them on the outside of the tray.
The advantage of 2 holders is that the memory doesn't loose power when replacing the low battery.
There is a lot of info on this site regarding the S6000 battery.Use the search feature! Good luck.

Thanks for the info. (fast reply)   I ordered just one battery, I'll up the order to 2, and get the holders at Radio Shack.  Thanks so much. New to all this. My job was building computers. This is a great challenge.  I'm retired, so lots of time on my hands.. "Great Forum"
