Title: Help for a slot newbie
Post by: Alby87 on July 24, 2013, 02:00:44 PM
Hi! I have been offered the slot in the photo. Altrough I'm a pinhead (I've a Twilight Zone pinball), I don't know nothing about slots. I've failed to identify this one. Tomorrow I'll drive to inspect it, but I don't know what to look, where to download the manuals. If I'm not wrong, it seems a Bally EM, so I posted here. I don't even seen it in real life, all I know is this photo. Knowing I had done many repairs on my Pinball, it will be difficult to eventualy repair? There is something I've to check even before plugging it (as in pinball we have things to check before plugging them). There also internet sites where to buy things for them (I'm in Italy), there should be manual inside the machine, if it's possible to change the coin accepted, and many other newbie information :) Many thanks!

Looks nice.  Make sure it powers up.
Make sure it is an electromechanical, that is NO computer boards or electronics, otherwise you'll be in the Bally electronic machine section for help.
If it's all coils and solenoids and switches, then you'll do fine, having worked on pinballs.
Same stuff, different use.

Look at the top right part of the reel glass. I see a small rectangular window, which is usually a paid meter, which is run by a circut board. So I might want to see more carefully what the status is with this machine. Also under the handle is a plate and it will tell you that it is Bally and also the model #, thinking it will be a e series slot.
