Title: S2000 with no sound Post by: ghetto1971 on August 16, 2013, 10:19:54 PM Installed new game, everything working fine but I have no sound. Put old game chip back in to see if sound worked and still no sound. Set game volume and money volume at 10 with nothing.
Pulled out 42 sound simm thinking that it might be bad, still not getting any sound. any ideas? If you can't even get default sounds out of the machine, I'd be trying another amp.

Title: Re: S2000 with no sound Post by: lindam1 on August 17, 2013, 10:34:15 AM My rule starts with Checking all plugs and wires for damage, If there's only one speaker touch the terminals to a AA batt to see if it's good (popping sound). Don't over think it til you have to.

If no bent pins it's probably the sound amp or the sound chip on the MPU board. Do you have spare MPU or amp you can switch out to isolate the problem?
