Title: Ceronix monitor board horizontal retrace ic Post by: Labrat on August 22, 2013, 02:22:03 AM :104- can the horizontal retrace ic be swapped between RCA and Chungwa boards. I did try and ended up with a worse picture. Was told most ic were interchangable.
Title: Re: Ceronix monitor board horizontal retrace ic Post by: cowboygames on August 22, 2013, 02:32:10 AM I'd be surprised, bit it's possible. Cross the parts numbers and see if they are the same. If not, they can't be swapped. What is a horizontal retrace IC? If the retrace lines are on the top, bottom or both then it's vertical output IC problem. If they are on the sides then it's a horizontal output transistor problem. Although a HOT problem would show up as bars or a wavy border on each side of the screen, not retrace lines. Show us a picture of the problem. Retrace lines can be caused by the flyback also. Indicated by a picture that's way to bright at the same time

Will get picture tomorrow when I start back at the workshop. All this is a bit new to me after being a gaming tech on the road to changing to a bench after 10 years so may have lots f weird questions. I'd all ought today got 6 ceronix boards back running ad 5 RCA .
Thanks or your prompt reply/support.
