Title: newbie question about blue bird
Post by: brianfink on August 27, 2013, 10:06:26 AM
I just got a Super Jackpot Party. The guy I got it from said that the printer won't work, because the jurisdiction chip requires it to be hooked up to a server. Just wondering if that is really true, and if so can I just swap out the jurisdiction chip? I was also wondering what type of hardware/software it takes to back up the software on the flashcards.

Hi Brian,

I got a WMS recently, so I'm definitely a newbie too, but I also heard the same thing, that printers don't work in stand-alone mode.  I can't remember who told me, but the Aruba jurisdiction (SJUR) chip will allow the printer to work.  Also, Bettor TITO or similar device is supposed to make it work too.  I haven't been able to get mine to work yet though.

Not sure on backing up yet as I haven't got there yet, but I'm sure someone else knows.

I've been able to configure my bluebird to print out tickets without bettor tito.  I don't remember the settings, but I know it's possible because I did it a while back.  Now I don't remember which jurisdictional chip I had when I tried it.

We have the US version or International version Jurisdiction chip that will allow stand alone printer (with correct printer)

The International one will allow for higher limits and no $1200 rule lock up
