Title: help with unwired switch - Bally 6000
Post by: JimSlot on September 05, 2013, 07:32:02 PM
The Bally 6000 machine I have has a big connector on the back of the cash box assembly and there are no wires connected to the terminals.  I checked my other working Bally 6000 and it doesn't have this connector.  I posted the pic of the connector below.  Needless to say, the bill validator does not cycle when the machine reboots.  Does anyone know what this connector is for and what wires should be connected if needed??

Thanks,
Jim

That's a cherry switch the casino used as part of their telltale system. Wiring usually gets pulled when the machine leaves the casino. The switch is an ornament now

Thanks for the reply...

OK, so that switch is not needed to cycle the bill validator?  I checked the dip switches and machine is set for a bill validator.  The bill validator doesn't cycle and the machine then shows an error 55 after it comes up, which seems to mean that there is no bill stacker.   I think I need to figure out why the validator is not cycling.

There are optics at the back of the cash box housing and dirt and bits of debris can sometimes block those. Also check your stacker to make sure it functions. Maybe in nother machine if your can

I switched the WBA with one from a working machine....now the new machine works fine.  It must be the WBA.   The one in the working machine is a WBA-12/13-SS 4-25-08 ID-003 V3.75-32i.  The one that doesn't seem to work had a label that is also WBA-12-SS but there is a newer label that says WBA-23-SS-CAN ID-003 V1.179-30  (4A38).  The EPROM on the one that doesn't work says W22_30638i_ID003.CAN.

Is there something special I need to do to get the WBA-23-SS-CAN working??

Thanks,
Jim
