Title: S2000 Sound Problem
Post by: gposing on September 11, 2013, 05:34:14 PM
I am getting sound out of the lower speaker only.  I swapped out a speaker from a working machine and the distribution board but still no sound out of the top speakers.

Anybody done any reworks on the wiring in that machine? Including adding resistors to the upper speakers

I dont know a way to test an amp, although I'm sure there is one.  :103-  Do you have a game to swap one out of, like you did the speaker?

There are a couple other things to look at also. Primarily, check that wiring and make sure it's right. Are you using an MMLII board with sound simm? By distribution board do you mean the one on the back wall of the top box that the speakers are plugged into? If that's the case then you already checked the amp. If you are not using the MMLII board then you may have a MPU problem. If you are using one, then you may have a problem with that board or it may not be plugged in nice and snug. The more you can tell us the more we can help. Having another machine to swap parts with will be a big help also

I have found that most slots have extra wires in the top cabinet, so I removed them and this is what I found for the speakers (see Pic).  all of the lines were spliced.  I cut them out, re-spliced them back (the right way) and it now works. !!
