I have a problem child bally s6000 that after a period of time, I get a error 88-xx...The numbers after the 88 are sometimes different like 88-2 or 88ff or 88-9....I know what a error 88 is, but what do the other numbers mean or relate to?...I have look over the site and can not find any information on what the number after the 88 mean...I hoping someone out there knows and will post what those number mean so I can figure out why my machine keeps crashing...Anyone know?... Title: Re: Bally 6000 error 88 Post by: Mr. Dinoman on September 20, 2013, 10:05:03 PM New battery 3.6v...Power on/off machine and it remembers credits...Leave machine off for a couple of days and it remembers...Just out of the blue it will give a 88-xx (with different numbers) and I have to do a ramclear again... :103- :99- :99- :99-

Battery always took care of it but not this time. Title: Re: Bally 6000 error 88 Post by: lindam1 on September 26, 2013, 10:45:51 AM I have had 2 machine that customers have had that same problem, when left off for weeks. while doing a clear I have noticed that the chip sockets were not tight, the chips went in too easy for my liking, very loose. I have used a good contact cleaner on them (with a toothbrush) and has seemed to have resolved the issue. Make sure your contact cleaner is plastic safe. I think the sockets become sloppy from all the ram clears in the casino and maybe even dirty from chips in and out.

Title: Re: Bally 6000 error 88 Post by: Mr. Dinoman on September 26, 2013, 12:57:18 PM I did get it to work...I used the most current "Stay in Mains" and that solved the problem...Interesting after lots of testing, the older "Stay in Mains" worked, but after a period of time the machine would crash and give me different 88 errors as mentioned above...Also I could get it to crash almost instantly when I opened any door and power off the powered on the machine via the internal switch...Again different 88 errors...I still wonder what the numbers/letters after the 88 mean... :103- All in all, the newer "stay in mains" corrected everything and is still currently working...
