Title: Triple Diamond Deluxe Error Code 41 then 61-1 Cleared nownothing will work
Post by: davebernard on April 03, 2009, 08:08:40 PM
I have a Triple Diamond Deluxe Machine that had an Error Code 41.  Cleared that to a 61. Then got that to a 61-1 code. Cleared that by holding the test button for 3 seconds and then turing the reset key. Now in the coins played spot it reads #0 and nothing works.  There is no Codes and I am confused...  :103- Any help would be great!

Welcome to NLG davebernard. :88-

Make sure that all doors are completely closed, including the cash box door, and make sure that the cash box itself is well seated. Most home machines don't have a sensor for the belly glass door, but it's a possibility as well. If the cash box is well seated, and the cash box door, belly glass door and main door are completely closed (make sure that the main door lever is pushed all the way down), then you might have a bad optic.

Did the game work before the reel tilt?

All the doors are completely closed and it is still doing the same thing.  Yes the machine worked great.   The machine is at my parents house and my dad had won a Jackpot.  It started to pay out with coins and then stopped (it ran out of coins).  He left the machine sit overnight until I came to clear the credits.  Once it was cleared it showed the Code 41.  Now the code is cleared and I am stuck with this...any info on why the door optic would go bad? can i by-pass the door optic?

How did you clear the rest of the jackpot credits?

You know what it might be? The molex on the reel harness is loose under the first (Left) reel.
Pull it down and off then reinsert it upwards into the socket under the reel, you might get some luck there.
This happens sometimes from a bit of oxidation on a pin inside the molex connector.
Let us know what happens!

I will try that in the morning when I go over there. It was not really a jackpot. He had 600 credits on the machine and won 800 and my machine will only hold 1000 credits. so it gave him the code to fill it back up when it ran out of coins in the hopper...and of course he refuses to lean how to fill the machine back up.  So he let it sit over night.

A word of caution!!  DON'T disconnect OR reconnect those reel harnesses with the power on! That can cause some ugly problems. If you're lucky, maybe nothing will happen, but it's not worth the risk.  Just my 2 cents.

I would also check this plug, if you have another machine try switching these.

Good luck,
Wayne

Then got that to a 61-1 code. Cleared that by holding the test button for 3 seconds and then turing the reset key.

FWIW, that would not clear a 61-1.  To change a 61 to a 61-1, you press the white test button for three seconds.  Then, to clear the 61-1, you close the door completely, then turn the jackpot reset key.  :71-

Thanks everyone. I tried everything suggested and still have a #0 in the coins played.  One other thing is that all the reels are lined up to where they are taped down. I moved a reel and closed the door and it cycled through and went back to this position.   :103-

if you are able to press your self test switch to get the numbers to change .. go to 10-1 in credit window ..

with the door open .. turn your jackpot reset key until 13-x ( cant remember if x = 1 or 0)

close door

if x does not alternate between 1 and 0 then one or both of your door optics are bad

I think his optics are okay, Ken, based on what he said here:

I moved a reel and closed the door and it cycled through and went back to this position.

It couldn't hurt to run the test, but it sounds like the game responded when the door was closed.

You have tried putting a coin in, right?

According to your first post, when you pressed the self test switch for three seconds and then turned the jackpot reset key.

At that point, I think you put the machine in the bookkeeping mode.   Are there any numbers in the winner paid or credits windows??    try turning the jackpot reset key and see if the number in the coins played changes. If it does, continue doing it until you get to # 9 or depending what sp chip you have #10 or # 11. You will see the numbers alternate 1 blank 0  for ten, and 1 blank 1 for 11 , then the next turn should put you back in the idle mode, or game play mode. I think you can do this with the door open, I am using a sp-731 and it will work on my machine.

If he's opened and closed the door, that would take him out of bookkeeping mode, though.  :103-

:3- :3-   got it working but the machine will not build credits and when you win it just pays out. Also it makes a weird sound (sounds like a quiet motor is running)  coming from the coin comparitor until you put in a coin and then it stops while the reels are spinning and then it starts again. If you unplug the coin comparitor it stops.   Also the bill acceptor is not working.   :103- but it is working so that is good.

Excellent news about your machine......  :136-

You probably don't have reel music while your reels are spinning either.....

Depending on your game chip you will have 2 or 3 options as it pertains to Cash/Credit options.

Right now you are on 0 - all pays to cash.
You can hit your cash/credit button (might say just cash or cash out) and it will put it into credit mode... play a few spins and your pays will go to credit.
However when you leave your machine it will revert back to cash.

You can select #1 - all pays to credit. This works the exact opposite to the above... all pays will go to credit, but when you hit the cash/credit button it will start to pay coins to the hopper.
Leaving the machine for a few min will revert it back to credit.

Some game chips have an option #2 - which says user selectable - basically you can choose cash or credit just by hitting the button and it will stay that way.
This is my choice but its not available with all game chips.

May I suggest you grab the following file from the Upload a new file area.
IGT_S+_PSRs_&_TEST_OPTION_SHEETS_SIMPLIFIED_V3
It will instruct you on how to change that option.

You can also follow the instructions there to turn on your reel sound.

Finally to get your Bill Validator working you will need to use a set chip. If you have one check out Ricks Faqs from the top of the home page and it will walk you through doing that.

Cheers !

Maybe cleaning between the magnet and reject rake might eliminate the chatter noise in the coin comparitor.

There may be a cold solder joint inside on the coin mech board...?

Most likely, the reason your coin comparitor is doing what it is doing is because the power supply inside the comparitor is only putting out about 15vdc.  Change Capacitor C-1 and the voltage should go to 20vdc, and it should solve your problem. Pay attention to the polarity of the cap, when you replace it.

Most of all the problems I have had was due to this, I'd say about 90 %
