Title: IGT Dozen of Diamonds
Post by: Bearsfan27 on October 03, 2013, 02:04:18 AM
Just bought my first slot and I know nothing. :99-  I need to get a manual so I can start on the right foot.  Can someone tell me if the IGT Dozen of Diamonds is a S+ or a S 2000?  I am guessing  a S 2000 but I would like confirmation please.  Thank You.

Four red LED windows on reel glass? S+   Two red and one long blue window on reel glass? s2000
But an S+ kit can be used in an s2000 so we'd need to see a picture if you're not sure

That title was available as an S+ title only as a 2 Coin game.  Here's the link.

Here is the photo of my Dad's slot machine. I am storing it for him at my office in The Colony, TX until he can get it up to his game room in Omaha. I havent been able to find any info on this ever being a 3 coin machine. If someone knows more information or knows someone in the DFW area that could come give this a once over, I would love to have their contact information as well.

As long as it turns on, accepts credits either through coin or cash and plays you should be ok. You'll want to get a door bezel for that bill validator though. The only member I can think of in your area is morespeed. You could wait to see if he responds here or try and send him a personal message through our system. Not sure if he does home visit repair stuff though. Fixing slots is his adventure, not his job.

Thanks for the response cowboy...yes we're working on getting new locks for the front door, cabinet, and bill validator. Also trying to change the payout percentage. Currently, it is set to 98.01
I'm also in the process of buying a clear chip and a set chip. I'm hoping once we get a manual for it, I will be able to figure out how to do all that stuff.

Once you have the clear and set chips programming is pretty straight forward and you can ask for instructions with the chips or post the questions here. As far as payback percent, the 98.01 is as high as it goes but it can be adjusted down as far as 87 I think. The clear chip is good to have, but unless you want to change the accounting denom you shouldn't need it unless you find you enjoy reprogramming the whole machine for no reason. The set chip is referred to as a "keychip" and can come in handy quite often for operational related settings you may want to change. Most common changes are made in menu 3 which doesn't require any chip changes, you just need to have all credits cleared off the machine. Menu 3 is for sound and coin related limit adjustments

Thanks cowboy. Might as well get a clear chip just incase. It's cheap enough. Wanting to change the payout to like 92% or so. Gonna let my employees have a go at it while it sits here in my office. Might as well make a few extra bucks in the process right?? HAHA!!

Still learning all the basic lingo and stuff and this site is super helpful and I have been reading posts non stop. Sounds like the S2000 is way better than the S+. I just saw the post that Yoeddy did of the Double Diamond Deluxe...looks pretty sweet. The guy we bought this one from says he has some double diamond deluxes, waiting to get pictures from him to see what kind of condition they are in. I will ask more questions after I read more because I can probably find a lot of the answers by looking harder. Thanks for being so helpful to us slot machine newbs. I have a feeling I will be purchasing my own very soon.

The S2000 machines are definitely more entertaining as far as sounds and some of the themes, but the S+ platform was probably the most solid/reliable platform in the last 20+ years.

...

WRONG.

Using personally owned slot machine(s) for gambling/profit is ILLEGAL in all 50 states and we at NLG strongly discourage your even thinking about it. All it takes is for one sore loser to drop a dime and you're facing felony charges, stiff fines, the loss of your machine(s) and any cash anywhere in or near it/them.

Play it for fun. Set it to 98%, use tokens instead of money, enjoy your machine and leave the income generation to your business endeavors.

P.S. Nothing personal. We have had lots of newbies who thought it would be a good idea to make money with their machines. It's never worth the risk.
