Title: Met Jim today during his Vegas visit
Post by: StatFreak on October 16, 2013, 09:01:57 AM
Jim is in town for a couple of days and I met up with him and Buzz, who drove out just for the occasion. It was great to finally meet him. Jim wanted to touch base with Frank at Casino Glass, so we drove him out there and I snapped this picture while we were talking. We had dinner at the Rio and then connected with his wife back at the Wynn.

We do have one guy on this site that goes by " JIM "  this is that fellow. Cincinnati Jim does that work ???

In the picture is that real nice asshole, Jim in the center and Walt Frank (casino glass) on Jim's right. Looks like Buzz was having a senior  :265- moment, so I decided to give him a hand!  :244- LOL Edit by CH :95-

Oh, Jim from MidWest!!! I never would have guessed that because of his location! None the less, nice to put a face to the name!

I do find it odd that one forum can have so many guys named Jim...personally, I only know one person named Jim, and on here there's what 7-8?

I'm also going to ask about Walt. I thought his name was Frank.  :103-

EDIT: Either way, we've been calling him Frank for years here on NLG.  :47-

I know that Buzz already cleared things up, but the idea was to post his NLG member name so everyone would know who he was. I can't help it if he just goes by "Jim." :30- :200- :208- :208-  I usually end up either calling him Cincinnati Jim or just "JIM Jim."  I'll be talking to Buzz and he'll say "Jim is going to put...." and I'll usually ask, "Blueridge Jim or JIM Jim"  :72- :72- :72-

I See the mistake ( lack of sleep last night ) CHANGE all of the above from Walt to Frank. WTF there wasn't any Walt there. Myself  JIM, and Frank are in the picture.

NO excuse but I did drive over and back yesterday.

Walt Frank (casino glass) on Jim's right. Looks like Buzz was having a senior  :265- moment, so I decided to give him a hand!  :244- LOL Edit by CH :95- I had fun changing it for you, bet that will confuse people even more now! Plus they will not be able to get a picture of you wiggling your naked ass out of their mind! I feel the -1 Karmas coming already! :208-

No wonder he wasn't answering when you addressed him as Frank!  :208-

Now we just need to know who this Walt fella is! Does Frank even exist? Maybe Frank is like a "Rudy"! (John probably gets called Rudy more than John!)

Even our waiter at the buffet wasn't a "Walt," but odds are that there was a Walt walking around somewhere we visited. It probably wasn't the sexy cocktail waitress at the Wynn that Buzz pointed out, or the large breasted woman trying to jaywalk across Desert Inn Rd that I didn't stop for (pissed Buzz off), or the sexy woman in leather pants that I was eying in the Wynn, either.

I'm usually the one who gets names wrong, though. I'd have felt pretty foolish if I had been calling Walt "Frank" for the last seven years.  :279-

Roz, he said change all above FROM Walt TO Frank, so it is Frank, there is NO Walt.  Just Frank.  Are we confused enough yet?  :103- :103- :103- :5- :5- :5-

Some of us call it sushi rolls and California rolls, with (US fake) Wasabi, ginger and soy sauce. Eaten with chopsticks, of course. I also had a plate of nothing but cold shrimp - but they cooked that.  :96-

I also had an Arnold Palmer. Now Buzz is old. I've heard that he's as old as dirt. (While r273 is supposed to be older than dirt.) Even so, he had never heard of the drink. I think it's because the only drink that exists in his world is black, bitter, and warm (not usually hot, because it's either sitting in the pot being warmed for the next refill or sitting in his very large cup on the desk.) Perhaps not really bitter, but there's no sugar or cream within a mile of a Buzz cup of coffee.

I've only had real Wasabi once, in a high-end Japanese restaurant that imported it, and it was expensive. 99%+ of what we get is basically modified US horseradish with mustard and some green dye. Real Wasabi is actually not quite as "hot" but has more flavor. Even so, I'm with you!

I know that the ginger is intended to clear the palate between foods but I love to eat it with the rolls/sushi.

I've seen many tubes/jars of wasabi with horseradish as the main ingredient. Darrell lost his taste buds about 6 years ago, and while they are about 25% back now, we still cannot get enough heat. We eat a ton of hot stuff (horseradish, peppers, Siracha, etc). When I make pepper jelly, I have to add habanero a to a couple batches for him...bread and butter pickles, same thing.

You Two can call it what ever you want. Looked like raw fish to me.  I guess if you eat it with chop sticks that makes it all better. You can bet your sweet ass the folks that makes this stuff better not depend on me to make a profit. Matter of fact the Prim Rib was too Red for me !!

Nice buttet but 30 bucks a head is kind of high, but we got in for half price because David is loco.

Did anybody (in the pic) hit the Ceasers auction last weekend?
I saw glass listed, but when I happened to log on to the auction they announced the glass was game kits with software!
Stuck on-call at my job I couldn't go.  :37-

Also saw a ton of toppers go for $100 a pallet load, looked like 15-20 toppers per pallet.

I think Rudy is the dog in  the website picture . I also think the dog is dead . Sorry to john if that is not so ?this post may get me in trouble P.B.

I used to eat more hot stuff, but doing so builds a tolerance. It got to the point where only habaneros were hot enough -- and I didn't like the way they tasted. I stopped eating capsaicin for a while and let my tolerance drop. Now I'm back to eating Serranos and Jalapenos (fresh preferred.)

If you're looking for lots of heat, real Wasabi would be a step in the wrong direction. It's not as hot as horseradish but has a lot more flavor. There's an American company growing it now in the Carolinas. Unfortunately, they're charging $150/lb for fresh rhizomes, even though they're growing them here and not importing them. Maybe the price will come down in a few years...

I completely missed that one. Never heard about it. I was at the Renaissance Festival. It's just as well since I have no room anyway.

I'm glad I was on standby, would have bought stuff I'll never need! Was hoping NLG members got any deals and thought maybe these guys were there!
They had several WMS Jungle Wild glass and software that went for $500 and several, I think 17, IGT All That Glitters kits with software for $175 for all.
Saw it listed in Friday's LVJ.

Sounds like you guys had a good time, wish I could've made it! Damn mortgage, damn bills, damn job!  :37-  :72-

No problem. I'll just call Frank and ask him to change his name to "Walt, The glass guy formerly known as Frank." Then I'll ask for some "Game Prince" glass.  :97- :97-

I got a call from JIM (just Jim) today. He spend most of his second day in Vegas sleeping and slept again after they returned home.
My wedding  :105- once again.

Buzz and David,    wanted to say thanks again for  taking the time to  visit with me during my stay in Las Vegas.  David and Buzz are great people and fun to be with, sorry I couldn't keep up with you two, I was still trying to adjust from the time difference between Ohio, Hawaii and Las Vegas. I finally did wake up the last day and did some gambling. Played some Texas hold'em at the Wynn, didn't do too well, people have to much money and they are willing to bet anything , If they go broke they just pull out another 500 dollars and are back in the game. HOWEVER, at 2 am , I decided to walk through the casino and find a different machine that I have never played. Found a Multi denom.  Triple Red Hot Sevens with the bonus round and random multiplier feature.  Put a twenty dollar bill in the machine  and the rest was history.  I played the machine until 9:40 am (we were leaving at 10 for the airport)  put 8653 points on my wife's card and relieved the Wynn of  nearly 6k.  4874.00 was on a 1099.  I hit the three triple sevens (150 credits)  with two 3x symbols (x 9)  in the bonus round with a 7x multiplier.  1350 x 7 = 9450. Needless to say this was the icing on the cake. playing .50 per line.

Thanks again David for being the chauffeur and for getting us a great dinner  and thanks Buzz for driving that distance to visit and for buying dinner.

Jim

one of the many Jim's on NLG.

Well, that's a nice parting gift! WOW!

I love getting a 1099, so then I can deduct some Gambling Losses!  :72-

And just for the record, there may be other Jim's on here, but you are THE "Jim"...

Wow, that's GREAT Jim! That must have made up for the lack of sleep, running around, and the wife's previous losses. :72- :72-

2am-9:40am - that's almost 8 hours of play in the black! You're own numbers say that you won in addition to the hand pay. That's random occurrence favoring you (i.e. you were lucky as He11)

 :105- :136-

For those home slot owners who think their machines are broken every time they seem to pay out too much, this is how it works. Anything can happen in the short run.

So how much did it cost per spin? The bet deck button layout suggests it was more than $2.50 (50¢x5,) or was it a nickel machine at 10 coins per line?

Title: Re: Met Jim today during his Vegas visit
Post by: Jim on October 21, 2013, 11:29:23 PM
Yes, very ,very  lucky!   machine was a multi denom. machine,   5 line, 25, 50 1 and 2 dollar.  so max bet was  1.25, 2.50, 5.00, and 10.00.
