Title: How to clear my credits to zero on my S2000
Post by: itsofishel on October 17, 2013, 07:08:29 PM
Hello all,

I have been looking and looking on the archived topics searching an easy way to clear out my credits back to zero.  I have seen many different option however I'm not sure those options are what I need.

I'll explain as easy as possible, me being a newbie  and all;

I currently have my Triple Diamond S2000 slot machine in my living room getting much attention from me only.  I have amassed a sum of 2000 credits (or $500) which is great and all but I will be having house guests staying and I'm hoping my guests will play this machine for entertainment and use their own money to play.  Otherwise if someone accidentally hit the cash out button, I don't have $500 in the hopper. lol An easy way to make some beer money while I'm entertaining.

I was hoping I could use my reset key, but wanted to check before I start to monkey around.

Other than you cashing it out before they get there, either through the hopper or a hand pay your options are pretty limited. You could remove the MPU and swap the ram chips but that is a little complicated and exposes you to potential damage to the machine.

On the other hand, it is illegal to use your machines for potential profit from friends or anyone else. Doing so is a felony in every state and with the federal government. Do NOT allow people to play their own money in your machines!

Yeah, I'd suggest flying with tokens and tickets.  Safe way to travel.  :)

If you have another SB chip, you could swap those, clear the error and re-install old chip.

BIG PROBLEM having them play with their money. Are you prepared to PAY if they hit the jackpot? My insurance agent did the same thing until a friend hit big and wanted payout. All my machines are loaded with tokens which never seem to dissappear like quarters do.

OK, good information and I see not the easiest thing to do for a new person like me.

As for using friends cash was a joke not well taken here I take it.  I was trying to make my point as simple as possible, considering I didn't understand the archives I was reading is in fact the only ways of resetting or (sorry don't want to use the term reset incorrectly) bringing the credits back to zero.  What I should have wrote on this forum, was that I want to bring the credits down to zero because the cash payout button is way too close to the one credit at a time button and sometimes gets accidentally tapped, meaning the hopper keeps paying out 2000 credits, needing to be reset or restarted again until it cycles through.  I have about $300 in quarters in the machine and want my friends to play that amount so if they win  and tap the cash pay out button, it want continue restarting or resetting over and over, unless a huge payout happens. then I'll have to deal with that then.
So, someone walks into your home and you say that is for amusement only and they put in a bill, you and calling the police? Besides that, I have three card carrying Indians living in my back bedrooms and guest house, soooo technically I am a casino, lol  I do have three Indians, 2 of which are Native Americans and one, my girlfriend from India, however I assure you, I'm making a joke so please no response that I need to contact the Tribal Council, then I have to fill out a 5488 Form with the IRS and signed off my a state inspector, not to mention the licencing and permits blah, blah, blah... it's a joke.

Cheers

If all you're worried about is people accidentally hitting the cash out button you can simply unplug one of the wires from the switch on the bottom of that button. If you're technically minded and unplugging will be a common occurance then put an on/off switch inline on one of those two wires for easier changes. I used to just put a cap over the cash out button when my mom in law came because she was really bad about hitting that flashing little button

You can also grab the switch and rock it gently far enough so the plunger does not hit the switch. Then if you need to cash out just click it back in.

That advice did it and fantastic help, thank you.  Why didn't I think of the obvious by direct connect to that botton? Grrrrrr... over thinking it here.
