Title: Unknown Mystery shadow light box w/S+ molexes
Post by: stayouttadabunker on April 08, 2009, 01:09:37 PM
I bought a light shadow box that goes probably up behind the award glass or some type of bonus glass.
I'm thinking of building a game that would support this back light.
Some guys think it may be for a "Sizzling 7's" type of game but there seems to be too many lights (9).
I tried it my test machine but of course nothing lit up...probably wrong chips and type.
I posted 3 pics of it...the last picture shows the ASSY NO.7511040
Maybe someone may have a IGT S+ reference book/sheet for this part number? :103-

If you click on the pictures, they open up nice and clear and a little bigger as well>>

SB, we all bought them! lol :72- :72- :72-

I asked that question before I bought it. CP's reply: Nine lights, seven payouts.... IGT engineering.  Who knows why?
:96-

Admittedly, I have not tried it yet as it arrived yesterday and I am traveling right now and will not be home for a few days.
In addition, I don't have the Bonus S7 kit, but I will get the chips and try the unit without the glass.
I figured that I'd hold off on buying a BS7 kit for a while since everyone else here who bought one of these is going to be competing for these kits from our vendors.

I get the funny feeling that we're gonna be giving Express Imaging a call soon... :72-
If anybody's got some kinda kit that matches this bonus lighting set-up...please let me know...thanks :89-

From an older post... this is the picture of the Bonus Siz 7's  game.  Basic play / payouts are same as Siz 7's  EXCEPT  3 red sevens (with 3 coins played) puts game into a Bonus round... makes a "bonus round sounds" .... then you hit the Spin button and (top box) light bar flashes and stops on Bonus  pay.  Also... while the machine is at rest...it goes to "attract mode"... lights in top box light bar flash intermittently.

I noticed on the light bar I got that only the inner 7 lights appeared to have ever been used -- the plastic around those lights was yellowed, while the outer two lights the plastic was a lot lighter.   :71-

Bonus Sizzling Sevens:
SS7088, SS7090, SS7091, SS8469 and others

I don't suppose you'd have the payback percentages for those, or could tell me which chip is the highest percentage?

Bonus Sizzlin'  7's   SS7088 97%    7090  92%     7091 95%

Look closely at the top glass ... Top of the glass...  BONUS.  just below are 3 Red 7's.  and below the  RED 7's  are 7 payouts in an arc... yellow backround w/ red lettering... ( I know, it's hard to read)   For reasons unknown to me,  IGT put 9 light sections in the light bar.   The 2 outer lights NEVER light up...so that's why you will notice white/unused condition of the  2 outer plastic sections.

I found a PAR sheet in my collection for the ss8469 -- that one is 90.011 percent.  It looks like the 7088 is the one to get then?

Here's a clearer picture of the top glass (thanks to Ken at Ohio Gaming):

...and, an interesting little tidbit found on the web.  It seems that perhaps these games were exclusively made for the Stratosphere casino when it first opened (perhaps later released to other casinos as well):

Quote
RENO, Nev., April 29, 1996 /PRNewswire/ -- The new Stratosphere casino, which opens this month in Las Vegas, has ordered 95 percent of its gaming machines from IGT, a subsidiary of International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT).

IGT slot and video gaming machines comprise 2,364 of the total 2,480 machines at the new Las Vegas casino property. The IGT games include two custom-themed games -- Bonus Sizzling 7s and Stratosphere Double -- which can only be found at Stratosphere.

"Stratosphere will open with more than 95 percent IGT machines, which have been selected based on several ...

...and that's as much of the press release I can see without having to pay a fee to read more.

Spare bulb holder ....   :31-

I wonder if this could be used with the 9 line Triple Diamond game the way the 5 line light bar works.....

Where does the molex connect to ? - it isn't the same interface as the behind the glass IGT Progressive is it.

It is, actually, and it piggy-backs off of it as it has a pass-through connector that still allows an internal progressive to be attached as well.

I doubt it could be used like the 5-line shadow box -- for starters, it's physically too big to fit beside the reel glass.

I have one award glass. I have not received my light bars yet.

SP1289 works also.

Also, the 5 line light bar doesn't have any logic...ie a circuit board with chips...on it.  It's really just a plastic frame with light bulbs.  This is much different.

I figured this much out,
If I cannot find the glass, and strips...since they seem to be rare...
I could always cut up the shadow box,
and re-wire them to use behind the reel glass in multi-lined games...  :79-

Nothing beats Orginal but uou can get the game printed complete from Express Imaging for around $160.
It would be a shame to see that cut up as they are probably more rare than the glass.

Thanks everyone for answering all of the questions. :71-   It's Passover, so I've been offline.

Stout, if you cut up that board I'll have to walk to NY and throttle you! :125- Sell it to me if you don't need it.  :79-

Lets get ready to RRUUMMBBLLE!!!  :72- I have to agree Mark, with a rare accessory like that, I'm sure you can find something else to frankenstein  :5-

 Dan (tacman)

Although in his defense Stat, I think his intention was if this was not the light bar for the Bonus 7's due to the light number difference.

lol......no, I won't cut it up....I'll continue the search for this elusive kit...
it really is kinda neat the way the lights work from what I've seen so far.
I really like the way they jumped the wires out of the molex so
that you still use the pigtail for the mini progressive display.
I lost my you tube account so I can't post any short film clips anymore.
Does anyone know of a different way to post a clip?

My home computer was having a little meltdown... :58-
I got pissed and thought it was one of my teenagers downloading crap offa youtube
and corrupted my hard drive with a virus...took me about 3 hours to find and remove it.
Still don't know how it got there either.....oh well.
So I deleted the youtube account...thinking that's where it originated from.....Arghhh!
Now I think I have to make another name and email address so I can re-sign up to you to upload clips. :25-
I had a couple cool working S+ clips there to...gone.... :8-

I keep getting this message.."The username "stayouttadabunker" is already taken"...huh? It's mine for chrissakes!....lol

You could always try sending an email to youtube's customer service department to get a copy of their canned response to this (probably) common problem. Who knows, they might actually have a usable answer. :79-

Okay...I hit!...I saved the Bonus mode by "opening" the door on the test unit.
Then I "closed" the door and filmed the Bonus mode>>>>

Wow Stout! Very interesting setup you have there. What did you do; remove everything from a cabinet, or did you build your test machine from spare parts?
Defiantly a great way to experiment and demonstrate the inner workings of the machine!
Very nice!  :3-

haha...
you can tell I live in a "friendly" state...with no one to ship me a machine,
I started buying parts from all over the country....well, ...WORLD actually, lol....
I had to build my own wooden cabinets and throw everything in it.
This "Test" set-up I've made is well, just a combination of like...everything...lol

What you don't see is like 3 different kinds of toppers on a shelf above the reels attached to the...ahem, wall...lol
Various DBV's on the right next to the various power supplies, and all kinds of con1's, con2's ,mikhohn3's,4's,etc...

It appears on the round glass itself that there could have been two possible awards that were not printed.
It seems that there's enough room on both ends for extra awards or messages perhaps, to be placed there.
That would explain why there's two extra light shadow boxes.
