Title: How did they silver glass Post by: Jeff99 on October 28, 2013, 06:34:05 PM Hi,
I want to screen print some glass and am looking for the process they originally used for the mirror (silvered) portion of the glass. Thanks, Jeff Title: Re: How did they silver glass Post by: OldReno on October 28, 2013, 07:21:27 PM Mylar?

Then print it dark to light colors with white being printed over all printed layers they also apply a clear film over the whole glass. Title: Re: How did they silver glass Post by: Jeff99 on October 28, 2013, 09:43:35 PM Do you have an idea how they applied it?
Title: Re: How did they silver glass Post by: Foster on October 28, 2013, 09:56:38 PM I would say they do it just like when a mirror is made, except I they do not apply the protective layer used on mirrors due to other inks being applied after the mirroring is done.
I have forgotten the exact steps to mirror making and if it can be done via a screen printing or not. I suspect it can be since IGT runs their own print shop Here is a article on it but not the only one. http://www.wisegeek.org/how-are-mirrors-made.htm Title: Re: How did they silver glass Post by: Jeff99 on October 29, 2013, 01:12:30 AM Thanks.
