Title: Big Buck Hunter Problem.....
Post by: Lancester on April 09, 2009, 09:09:47 PM
I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me with an issue. I have an original ITS big buck machine that was working fine, however I wanted to upgrade to a newer version. I bought a big buck hunter sportsmans paradise board set & hard drive from a seller on ebay & installed it in this machine. The problem is that the video is bad. The game boots up & is playing, but the video is almost all yellow & splits the view into 5 images, very 'snowy".

The board is the very same one as the one I replaced, but the hard drive seems to be the only difference.

Any input would be appreciated.

That sounds more like the video signal is wrong for the monitor.

the key chip on the board would match the game you bought. Upgrade kits come with the new chip.

I've found out that the board is the same as the original bbh save for two different chips. Any idea where I might buy the "upgrade" chips?

Cool car. I have a '67 barracuda.....

After talking to a tech at its, I have found that once the upgrade is done, it will only work with a medium resolution monitor, Apparently mine are standard. Does anyone know any way around this short of changing the entire monitor?

I believe some monitors can switch between standard and medium resolution, I think there is a plug on the chassis that changes position.  Cannelmaniac?

Good luck,
Wayne

p.s.  I always liked the Barracuda.  ever go to the Mopar Nationals?

Unless you have a dual-sync or tri-sync monitor the only hope is to swap the monitors.
