Title: Fortune Coin and Bally
Post by: BadMaddison on November 04, 2013, 12:06:05 AM
here are the new kids I adopted the day before Halloween.  I thought driving to the outskirts of dirt and gravel roads a bit sketchy and I'm always twice careful as a female but the elderly gentleman I met was just a cute grandpa!

turns out these have been in his home since he bought them...when he worked for the Dept of Justice.

yep.  the DOJ.  he gave me the papers that go with the machines and everything.

see, he didn't want to just "sell" them; he wanted someone to "have" them, to take care of them.

well, pick me.

they both look brand spanking new and play beautifully.

now I need someone to pick them up, service the Fortune and deliver to my house in Orange County.

any reliable references will be gladly welcome.

Did you buy these? They are still on Craigslist for sale. Hope you didn't pay him yet!

Yes, they were just delivered.  Thanks for the heads up, though.  I did get a handshake and a receipt even though I wouldn't take either from near anybody nowadays.

I took some advice from DocSlots who told me that if the Fortune played perfectly fine then to leave it alone so I did.  The "stork" delivered the new kids a few days ago and even though they are still in their pallet wrap I had to plug in the Fortune; it's hilarious! It flashes about 20 different sayings including "you look good, good looking", " rub my handle" and "grab my knob and pull".  I will post some pictures and get back to building the stands or else I'll end up unwrapping them and playing them on the floor.

Thanks for looking out for me, Skater.  Guess who's got a Bally 809, too?

Good to hear!!  :3-
That Fortune game sounds like fun. Thanks for posting the pics and info too!  :259-

Bad news here: I SOLD my 809! I finally gave up. I did everything possible. I could never get a consistent problem to post about. One pull would pay off fairly close, next would be way off, next would be a hopper gone crazy. Then the hopper just died. Then it came back... In my life, I've never had a machine so inconsistent. I did get it to "behave" a little better but I lost interest and sold it.
But I was JUST NOW playing with my Bally 742 single nickle slot!
