Title: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: surfnrg on November 08, 2013, 10:25:46 PM Sorry if I'm asking dumb already answered questions. I have not been able to figure out how to search the forum effectively yet. I just received my village people party (I think it's a bluebird) slot machine. It's fun.
1. Can i configure my williams village people party slot to take dollar tokens and use a hopper? It appears so from the setting screen 2. My game prints out vouchers when you win. It will not, however take the vouchers back. Is there a way to get this to work? 3. How do I configure the other denominations and change the payout percentage. 4. What type of machines is this? Bluebird? I heard there are multiple bluebird machines. 5. Can I change the game from time to time to something else? Yes there are a couple of BB cabinets and a 550/NXT cabinet that will all run the BB software. Sending a pic of your machine will help identify what you have. You will probably have to clear the machine and reload the game to change denom, percentage and hardware changes. You will be able to change your machine for coins/hopper but the hardware has to be connected for the game to function or you will get an error. The ability to print and read tickets is available with TITO add-on boards that several people have available here, just do a search for TITO and view the different boards/options to see which would be best for you.

Is this something I can do on my own, or do I need to buy a new rom image or some such thing? I'll take a photo and upload as well.
Title: Re: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: Nashional on November 10, 2013, 07:52:17 PM If you have a BB1 (NXT), you need a clear RAM card, such as a 1810. You'd take your game and OS cards out, put in the clear card and wait for it to finish. Then put your game cards back in and press the white maintenance button inside the door when it's time for configuration. Then set up your parameters there.
Title: Re: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: surfnrg on November 10, 2013, 08:21:18 PM I think that's what I have. Here are 3 photos. I'll look for that ram clear card Thanks so much for the great advice. Is there some sort of document that explains all of this? Does this mean if I ram clear and get another set of game cards I can convert my machine to another game? Or is it more complex than that?
Title: Re: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: rickhunter on November 11, 2013, 12:38:03 PM That's exactly what it means. You clear the machine and then you can install a new set of cf cards with game and os. To use coins, you have to remove ticket printer and then install all the coin handling stuff. Hopper, coon in head, comparitor, optic with diverter assembly, hopper conmector. Configuring the new game is not that difficult. There is a document on this site that shows u how.
Title: Re: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: Nashional on November 11, 2013, 12:56:26 PM From the looks of your pics, it doesn't look like you have anything that's needed to accept coins/tokens (all the parts that rickhunter listed). You'd need to acquire all of those parts and install them before you can change over to coins.
Title: Re: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: surfnrg on November 11, 2013, 02:07:19 PM How do I acquire this 1810 ram clear chip? I'll check with the person that sold me the slot. While I'm looking for that, any suggestions for fun games to get?

If board is Blue/Green then you can use the 1810 Easy way to remember is if CF cards are left to right on cpu 1810 ok, front to back no go Title: Re: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: Nashional on November 11, 2013, 03:19:02 PM I've used 1810 on two different front to back (stacked) CF card green CPU boards dozens of times (I've not had the opportunity to try it on a side-to-side configuration). And I've used the same 1810 on a BB2 CPU.
Perhaps the boards I've tested were Frakensteined?... No, not Franky'd but I was not really trying to go into dept but rater try to help this guy not get into an issue I see often with new buyers of BB1. Yes I am sure you have used the 1810 on Green board but 2 thinks have to be specific to happen, 1, the Bios has to be v.2000 and 2 the CF Card has to be the SimpleTech brand CF Card and not the Smart brand Card (If a Copy the all bets off). Most I have seen were the Smart Brand. Not that I haven't done what you have done, but was just trying to save some headache for this guy. WMS has a bulletin on it, I will not post but contact me if desired. In the newer WMS Manual it states to use the 1800 on non RoHS CPU's (the Green ones) and yes 1810 on all BB2. Again was just trying to be helpful as it seems at least once or twice a month I get a call about this issue in bb1 or the older NXT boards and Clear Cards Title: Re: Newby Here with a few questions about my newly acquired WMS Village People Party Post by: Nashional on November 11, 2013, 05:47:59 PM Ah.
