There's a much better live New Years show he jams in 1978.., but I'll take the newer, mainstream for tonight. I can barely hear due to those speakers though.. Minor ear drum damage maybe? HaCan't wait for the SIMMS! Title: Re: custom sound simm Post by: vtyler on November 22, 2013, 04:19:26 PM sad to say i have hit a road block in this. tho i can say it is possible it is not practical. i can find no signs of distinguishing marks in between the tracks, and each simm i have done so far has different sample rates. it would take hours to hand disassemble each simm add on top of that the time it would take the sound tech i work with to match the new files with the old sounds the process would end up being too expensive.

Title: Re: custom sound simm Post by: PLUNGER BOY on November 22, 2013, 11:34:25 PM If you took a generic DVS 42 sound Simms and randomly took out a section of data and then played back in the sound test it would tell you were in the Simms you were . Just thinking out loud . P.B.
Title: Re: custom sound simm Post by: vtyler on November 23, 2013, 02:12:59 AM i mainly do r&d and i had no clue a test menu for the simm existed. does it tell you the memory addresses in the simm that sound is stored? if so that would greatly simplify the process.

If you go to 4.4.2 'MMLB sound test', it'll show a number next to each sound as you scroll through them. Not sure if that amounts to anything on placement of the sounds..., But worth a look see.Harvs Title: Re: custom sound simm Post by: vtyler on November 23, 2013, 01:30:57 PM the numbers i would need are the addresses the sound sits on the chip the number is 8 digits long and is a combination of letters and numbers, but i will look into it.

I think that's what the numbers are then. I can look in a bit. - Or fire up your machine and check it out. Hope it is correct! And hope you can make this work!!! I want Michael Bolton's voice on all my machines. Harvs Title: Re: custom sound simm Post by: Yoeddy1 on November 23, 2013, 04:47:23 PM You know what would be cool as hell? If it was possible to dump the sounds from Bally, etc games and put those sounds onto a custom S2000 DSV...ohhhhh, I would be all over that!
Jason Title: Re: custom sound simm Post by: vtyler on November 23, 2013, 11:14:56 PM i don't actually have a slot machine my self i do some work for a repair shop mostly r&d and graphic design. when i have free time the shop owner lets me use the equipment to to "play" around with different ideas i have. that being said i wont be back at that shop until Tuesday at the soonest, i will give this thing one more shot before i shelf the idea for another project we want too look into.
Title: Re: custom sound simm Post by: vtyler on November 27, 2013, 11:17:37 PM good call on the MMLB test menu not a full address but looks like it will line up some how.
