Title: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: JuzAU on November 18, 2013, 08:58:20 AM Hi All
i have an aristocrat mkv lowboy which was working fine until a few months ago When i first turn it on its fine, but after about 10 mins the screen starts to jump and gets progressively worse until the screen is unrecognisable I was going to order a new power supply but just wanted to ask if anyone had an idea of if it is the power supply or maybe the monitor itself The power supply is a mk5s2a I am in melbourne, if anyone can help and maybe point me to the best place to get parts it would be greatly appreciated The machine is used to keep the mother in law out of my hair when she visits, and she is due for a visit again in a few weeks, so really need to get this fixed Thanks for any help Juz Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: Labrat on November 18, 2013, 06:44:00 PM Try game tec. I'll give them a call tomorrow Still not sure if its the power supply or the monitor thats the problem, but going to try the power supply first and hope that works, Cheaper than a new monitor :) Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: Labrat on November 19, 2013, 06:45:56 PM I would replace all the caps and the flybac. About $40 parts from Gametec. Board will be tied and if firing up something not oping with continual power and getting hot.

Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: JuzAU on November 29, 2013, 01:20:52 AM Its a ceronix board
I just replaced the board with a rebuilt one and changed the flyback too Was perfect picture when i first fired it up, but after 20 minutes its doing the exact same thing The screen looks like it has double vision I have no idea what it is now, im hoping not the crt itself Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: Gaming1 on November 29, 2013, 01:25:49 AM Have seen main processor do this with a bit of age but from picture looks like some one has bumped the convergence rings or your yoke has a problem
Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: JuzAU on November 29, 2013, 01:32:52 AM Its starts out fine when first turned on but then goes like this after about 15 minutes and then gets progressively worse
Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: JuzAU on November 29, 2013, 03:46:23 AM Have turned it off for an hr and then back on
Now it starts out blurry but doesnt get any worse Anyone know how to focus the screen, have adjusted all the dials on the monitor frame but doesnt have a focus button Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: SS308 on November 29, 2013, 05:14:08 AM Your focus is on the flyback transformer! it is marked as the other is voltage so read first as I can remember if top or bottom adjustment
Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: JuzAU on November 29, 2013, 05:54:30 AM Problem solved
Found the focus button on the flyback :3- Had to pull the entire monitor out to get to it as the screen is fully encased on the lowboy But its been on for about an hour and it still looks perfect Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and help :131- Title: Re: Aristocrat mkv power/screen problem Post by: SS308 on November 29, 2013, 07:45:28 AM Cool !
