Title: LCD screen position issue
Post by: smileman83 on November 25, 2013, 09:39:38 PM
Hi guys again. I have an issue with a GK that I am trying to resolve. When it arrived, the 19" LCD picture was shifted over about 2 inches. Could not correct it with the menu as its too far to the right. Seller sent another monitor to swap out and the problem was resolved or so I thought. Worked for a month. Went to turn on this evening and same situation, picture is over to the right about 2-3 inches. Did everything my newbie mind said to do, reseated monitor, checked for anything obviously loose but could not detect anything. Anyone seen this? Some guidance on what to check would be great. The game plays fine every other way.

Bruce

Auto adjust on the monitor 3 to 4 times in a row. Probably not a "fix" but it has worked on all of the ones that were like that on my GK's  (the little green board, bottom right of the LCD)

Hope that does it for you,

David

Hi Bruce,

When I was tinkering around with my WG LCD monitor after the conversion from CRT, I had some positioning issues as well that were resolved with a calibration.

Take a look at this thread and hopefully it will help.

You don't say what manufacture your LCD is, something else to check

Press the Menu Button on your LCD Control Panel and see what type of game has been selected for use with the LCD, you can choose between AVP, 044 or 039 once you have the LCD set for the correct game type, Press the Auto Size button to let the LCD resize

I will check the menu , I beleive currently it is set for AVP. The odd thing is that when I replaced this 19" monitor is did fine for about 2 weeks, then turned it on one day and the screen was offset 3 inches to the right. Touchscreen works fine so not sure whether something inside the LCD has malfunctioned. As I said, if I change the frequency setting all the way down and then slide the horizontal position all the way to zero, it is centered but now doesnt quite fill screen side to side.
I will look to see what monitor it is. I assume I have to tear it down and get inside chassis to see- yes?

you don't have to tear down anything

The LCD user control panel is accessible outside of the chassis, it will be located where you can see from the outside

No I know that Harp- youre speaking of the menu buttons. Someone had asked what type of monitor it is and that I assume is inside the chassis where the actual monitor is.

Thanks all again. It is a Kortek 19" monitor. I decided to really play around with the menu. Rest the game type to 044 which is what I am running, hit autosize, nothing- still 3 inches right. Then decided to do a factory reset from the OSD menu and boom it went full size. Then changed the game type to 044 and the size to scaling and looks good.

Now- is 640x480 the standard resolution for these games? It didnt allow me to change that at all. Is that monitor dependent? also how is Kortek- is it a lower end monitor
