Title: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: jprocell on April 15, 2009, 04:25:11 PM I have an S2000 Vision Machine/Slant Top ("Munsters"). The coin comparitor is working, and credits are recorded when coins are dropped, but all coins are dropping into the bottom box instead of the hopper. When I check the S2000 Menu settings for hopper level, it shows a 3 which inidicates that the hopper is full. Is that why the coins drop straight though to the bottom box? If so, there are no wires connected to the side of the hopper bowl to indicate coin level, so not sure why the machine thinks that the hopper is full. I also cannot find any loose wire connectors in the machine that should be connected to the hopper bowl to indicate coin level. I would like inserted coins to go into the bowl instead of straight down. Can anyone give me advice to correct this?

Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: jprocell on April 15, 2009, 07:19:30 PM I believe I tried that last night and the machine gave me an "coin" error of some type when I turned the machine back on? Does that sound correct? Perhaps I unplugged the wrong wires? Do you think something is wrong with the solenoid or do you think the machine is registering the hopper full, thus diverting to the bottom?
Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: blueridgeslots on April 15, 2009, 07:22:38 PM the small 2 pin connector on the back, I will try and get a pic, should not throw a coin error, however I have not tried, I would say the wires are touching somewhere at the hopper if no bowl contacts are present
Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: jprocell on April 15, 2009, 07:25:30 PM Thanks for the SUPER FAST response. Is it a two pin connector on back of the coin comparitor device or is this located somewhere else? I am learning, so not sure exactly where you are saying this plug is located.
Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: blueridgeslots on April 15, 2009, 07:27:39 PM There is a plunger type solenoid that operates a flap under the coin optics, follow the wires, there will be a connector to unplug, Here's a pic.

Is that why the coins drop straight though to the bottom box? yes the full hopper signal will cause the diverter to send all new inserted coins to the drop box. If so, there are no wires connected to the side of the hopper bowl to indicate coin level, so not sure why the machine thinks that the hopper is full. I also cannot find any loose wire connectors in the machine that should be connected to the hopper bowl to indicate coin level. the wires for indicating the hopper level should come from the hopper driver board. it looks like level 3 (full) comes from pin 6 on connector J4. check for that pin to run to ground instead of up to the bowl. basically all that happens when the coins reach up to the probe is create the ground so someone may have just wired it to ground to make all coins go to the drop. :89- Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: jprocell on April 16, 2009, 03:31:51 PM Thanks you VERY MUCH. Your information was perfect and I unplugged this connection and the coins now go to the hopper. I may check on the wiring of the hopper though as recommened to see if I can figure out why the machine is registering "hopper full."
Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: jay on April 16, 2009, 03:50:57 PM On the S+ hopper there is a single wire that runs from the base of the hopper to a bolt on the side of the hopper. When the coins touch this bolt it causes the drop door to open. Simply this just completes a circuit to ground. In an earlier post you indicated you did not see such a bolt. You might want to look for an exploded view of the hopper and locate where the wire is supposed to come from. I am sure it has either been afixed to another metal part on the hopper to force the drop door to open or if it was simply taped over then the tape has come off and it has become shorted. This should not be too hard of a problem to solve but then again this is a S2000 and not a S+ Good luck Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: blueridgeslots on April 16, 2009, 03:57:04 PM The S-2000 is different, and since he has no studs on the bowl there must have been some modifications
Title: Re: Coin Drop Problem on S2000 Vision Machine Post by: jprocell on April 16, 2009, 07:08:43 PM Actually I do have studs on the bowl, with metal studs in them, just no wires attached.
