If the game runs normally during play and then reverts back to this behavior I would not think it is power supply related.... We have seen bad displays but as there are several displays in the machine, a bad display is usually a "one display" problem, rarely several at the same time. The S+ are relatively simple - You have the motherboard (fixed board) the the MPU (Removeable game board). The motherboard has a CMOS chip on it that needs to stay in sync with the CMOS on the MPU board. ITs kind of a checksum system to ensure integrity. Other than that - when the MPU board is removed the displays are blank as all of the processing is on the MPU. The first thing I would suggest is to pull the MPU board (you do this with the game off). You will need to pull the hopper first to get a the MPU. We are trying to determine if there appears to be a ghost (short, glitch, etc) in the machine without the main logic board in place - basically can we eliminate something out of the equation ? With the machine off....Take a piece of cardboard or rubber spatchula and slide it under the motherboard gently and see if there are loose coins or other particulates that you can remove. This could easily happen from an overfilled hopper, during transport, etc etc.,... Turn the machine on without the MPU and see if the displays are flickering or displaying stuff they should not. Assuming blank as expected - turn the machine back off Next Look at the edge connector on the MPU (where the MPU plugs into the motherboard) and if it appears dull use a white eraser and give the contacts a good scrub. Even if its not dull a good scrup is not harmful. Dont use a pink eraser. Put the MPU back in - but leave the hopper out, turn the machine on, close the door and see if the problem persists. If things look good, turn off, put the machine and put the hopper back in, turn on, close door, repeat. If things are still off the rails - get a different game board and swap. - It would be interesting to know if the problem moves with the game board or if it stays regardless of the MPU - You can get a new MPU from Ebay or most of the vendors on our main page for around $20. Please report back your results....
