Title: Key chip fails on only one of my slots
Post by: Calaveras on December 17, 2013, 02:13:59 AM
I have used my #45 key chip a number of times on my IGT super sizzling sevens  machine with full success.  I tried to use it now and I got a key chip failure in the message window.  I tried it in my other IGT machine and it worked fine.  The Super Sizzling Sevens still works fine but I wanted to change the payout odds.  Do the SB game chips have a limited amount of times they can be reprogrammed?  I have several of these #45 key chips and none of them work on this machine.  Help please.

A 3 reel slot machine? I would use a Key 31, but your mileage may vary...or does your machine have an Enhanced Board (1270 in the part number?)?

This machine does have the enhanced board for the 4th bonus reel and special sounds, bonus voices.

Shouldn't matter. Unless the chip is damaged or you have credits on the machine it should work. There is no set number of times you can program a machine or SB chip. The catch is that every time you do it you are risking physical and/or software damage by the simple act of removing and replacing chips

Never mind...yours is a 4 reel, sorry, didnt catch that the first time. I'm guessing you may have had credits on the machine?!

I will retry and make sure I have zero credits, I may have missed that. Thanks for the help.
ps:the zero insertion sockets work very well and the are inexpensive if you get them on EBay.
