Title: New Game Maker Machine Owner (paid $75)...Have Questions! Post by: onemanclan on April 19, 2009, 02:26:27 PM Wow...That's right you read that right $75!!!! Anchor Auctions in Reno auctioned off about a dozen Game Makers yesterday (and about another 80 or so machines). They went CHEAP...Still pinching myself...
Can the scrolling 'welcome' be changed? Mine says something like, "Thanks for playing at Dini's..." (I think that means "Baldinis" a casino in Sparks). I'd like to customize it for my house?!? For you skeptics, Anchor Auctions won't change their website until Thursday 4/23...Scroll down past all the dolls and stuff: http://anchorauctions.com/auctions.htm Everything works, so no other questions for now. Thanks in advance for any help you may have! Title: Re: New Game Maker Machine Owner (paid $75)...Have Questions! That scrolling message can't be changed (not until it gets to my basement anyways). ...just so you don't feel cheated I will offer you $100.00 - thats 25% raw profit..... over 3000% annualized and will take that obvious lemon off your hands. :72- Just in case you don't believe me there is a gamemaker.pdf manual in the submit a newfile area. You lucky B@st@rd. Title: Re: New Game Maker Machine Owner (paid $75)...Have Questions! I love the Internets! I rely on sites just like this for info...Bad Weather Bikers for my Buell Ulysses, Thumper Talk for my XR600R, Cartaholics for my golf cart (Burning Man art car), and now New Life Games for my slots! Stoked to see this site supports arcade games as well. Lastly, I'm sure that a lot of these Game Makers will start appearing in Reno's craigslist. They'll want a profit, but the machines might go for a relative bargain... Title: Re: New Game Maker Machine Owner (paid $75)...Have Questions! Post by: knagl on April 19, 2009, 06:10:53 PM Gee-ez! Nicely done.
I even saw an IGT Jackpot Poker PE+ slant top in that lot. WANT. Title: Re: New Game Maker Machine Owner (paid $75)...Have Questions! But I found a Sharkey's table with the bone pink $500 Harvey's chips in it that sold in a previous auction. :8- :8- :8- According to The Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0764322214), the pink $500's are an R10 (rarest possible) outside of a Sharkey's table, and the blue baccarat $1000 chips are unique to Sharkey's tables. (No known examples outside of a table) The bone-pink $500 Harvey's brass core chip was the very first $500 chip that I ever won (playing BJ of course), and I always wanted one in my collection. I hope that that table went for a lot of money -- or some fool got a "nice souvenir" table without knowing what he bought. :37- (http://i40.tinypic.com/14vc0g.jpg) btw, the black chips are $25 and the white are $100, both from Baccarat. However, at the blackjack tables where I won the pink, Harvey's had orange chips for $25 and dark midnight blue chips for their $100s -- they had an odd but pretty color scheme. $5's were turquoise, $2.50 were forest green, $2 were brown, and $1 were a sort of bright mustard yellow. Post by: StatFreak on April 21, 2009, 12:46:08 AM Stat, I think it went for over 10k I had thought one guy owned all of the tables and had paid 240k for the lot Well, that makes me feel better. I've wanted a Harvey's/Sharkey's table for a long time -- this is the first time I've ever seen one. sigh I couldn't have afforded it anyway. :30- Thanks Ron. :131- Jay, there's no game in the table; it was a table at Sharkey's restaurant in Gardnerville, NV. Sharkey bought up large volumes of obsolete (and rare) high-denomination casino chips from the Tahoe area (and perhaps some from Reno/Sparks?) and had the chips embedded into custom tables that he had made for his restaurant. Collecting obsolete casino chips -- another expensive hobby -- and I have way too many of them (hobbies, not chips :96-) ... <ADD> Of course, chips are worth more when they're not embedded in a table, but these tables are well known. |
