Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: proten on December 31, 2013, 02:47:31 AM 83f is most likely a dead battery.
Check it with a meter. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: paul on December 31, 2013, 11:39:35 PM 54 is a side door open check inside switch and side door switch check all doors

Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: trashman on January 06, 2014, 08:59:55 PM ok so i put in a new battery in then i got the low battery code so i did a full saferam clear still getting the 83f error with all the lights flashing.any other ideas thanks
Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: proten on January 06, 2014, 09:34:17 PM Try checking the new battery while it's still
on the board. There have been bad new battery's that are low when installed. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: trashman on January 06, 2014, 09:45:08 PM im getting 3.6 volts
Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: proten on January 06, 2014, 10:06:47 PM Trace the circuit and see if the voltage is getting where it needs to go.
You may have a bad trace do to leaking battery. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: trashman on January 07, 2014, 07:04:38 AM i did and i do
Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: Jim on January 14, 2014, 12:35:59 PM is the jumper in the right position? there is a set of jumpers next to the battery, you could disconnect the battery from the circuit if you didn't want to run it down during long periods of non use. Maybe its in the wrong position?
Some thing in and around that area is your problem, the rest of the board seems to be doing what it should be, if you get this resolved, then the machine should work. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: proten on January 14, 2014, 04:09:49 PM The two pins of the jumper(JW1) are spouse to be connected together ( the two pins in the red plastic).
The way you have it the voltage can't get past the jumper. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: trashman on January 15, 2014, 08:59:21 PM i did that no help still have 83 f code
Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: proten on January 15, 2014, 10:31:08 PM Ok I made a mistake. JW 1 is not the right jumper.
The pin that you have the wire from the battery connected to and the pin next to it (JW12or14)are spouse to be connected. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: trashman on January 16, 2014, 04:59:31 PM i did that didnt change any thing.i even did a reset again still got the 83f
Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: proten on January 16, 2014, 06:19:59 PM You must have another problem with that board.
I see what looks like corrosion at the U54 chip. You could have acid damage under the socket. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: trashman on January 16, 2014, 07:37:58 PM DO you fix these board i dont see any rott on the board or have a board for sale i will look on e-bay to if so can you give me a ruff estimate as to what it will cost board or repair mine. thanks
Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: proten on January 16, 2014, 07:51:16 PM I'm not a "repair" person as I just tinker with this stuff.
If I was you I would post a WTB (want to buy) and get another board then if wanted I could look at it and see if I can find out why it is giving that code. Title: Re: bally s5500 ram clear chip problem Post by: paul on January 17, 2014, 01:45:30 AM Raz410 might be able to help with problem
