Title: IGT AVP Printer Problem Post by: vpguy on January 03, 2014, 10:19:47 PM I've got a IGT AVP machine and I'm having a lot of trouble with the printer. I've probably seen just about every code it's capable of producing. The printer is in good shape and clean. I've got a Bettor TITO board installed and that seems to work just fine.
Sometimes I gives error messages, some times it prints but then starts to pull the paper back in, sometimes it prints but the text is a little squished. At this point it only prints maybe 1 in 20. I've tried cleaning all the sensors and noticed that it didn't really want to take up the paper. The motors all run, but it seems like the rubber wheel was to slick and really wouldn't grab the paper. I'm hoping this is the heart of my problem. Possibly from being in my "dry" house? I moistened the wheel a litle with a moist paper towel and it seemed to perform better but only for a short period of time. Are these printers fairly generic? Are they expensive? I guess I could contact the company that sold me the machine and see if he will exchange it but if it's a simple fix, I'd like to do it myself. Changing the rubber wheel looks very easy. So for those with experience with these printers can you let me know if my problems sound familiar and if there is a realitivly easy fix. Thanks so much. VPGuy... |
