Title: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! Post by: nipsmg on January 12, 2014, 02:33:52 PM Hi everyone!
I stumbled across this forum and decided to join today. I won a 5 Times Pay at auction yesterday for $100, which I thought was a great deal. Upon getting it home, I found that the slot was missing basically all of the expensive internal parts.. and I'm beginning to think it wasn't such a great deal after all.. Regardless, I want to get it in working order, and I figured best to first get some feedback from a community that knows their stuff. I'm basically looking for:
I've attached 2 images to the thread showing the inside of the machine. The only part of the coin/bill handling system I do have is the coin comparator, Model # CC-16D-INHIBIT with stickers on it stating .150 and 12VDC From what I can tell from service and user manuals I've obtained for the S+ slots, I need the following:
You know, all the expensive stuff. Is there anything else I should be checking for? Any parts I missed? Any good places I can get this stuff without having to sell my first born? Thanks in advance for the help. Looking forward to participating in the community! --Michael Gerety Title: Re: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! I am thinking that you can contact "Rudy Deals" for the parts. :279-

Who raped and pillaged your machine? :200- :5- Title: Re: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! Post by: David B Fowler on January 13, 2014, 03:12:24 AM Almost looks like it will be cheaper to keep that one for parts and buy another one.

If your in the Ohio or Nevada area you would be best to visit in person.... Title: Re: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! Post by: jay on January 13, 2014, 05:31:19 AM I would also recommend you get a SET chip and CLEAR chip.
The Clear chip - while not used too often takes your machine back to factory settings. The SET chip is used to activate your bill validator and set the denomination. For instance a .25c denommination means you get 4 credits for each dollar put into the machine. Title: Re: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! Post by: Buzz on January 13, 2014, 05:44:03 AM Jay and Bunker you both missed that he has a 12 V comparator and needs a 24 volt.
Title: Re: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! Post by: nipsmg on January 13, 2014, 09:13:59 AM At this point, it looks like it would be about the same cost to buy another or just fix this one up with parts.
The reason I got hosed is that I know nothing about these machines, so I'm chalking this up to a learning experience and building it back up with the parts I need. I already found the comparator gear and bracket, it's on the way. Hoppers are coming up all over the net between $175 and $190, not including shipping.. I've found cheaper but by the time you add in shipping it's close, and where I've found it cheaper the sites didn't look very reputable. I also had one personal message regarding the hopper, coin tray and bill accepter, but I'm waiting for a response on that too. I also am looking for a good source for either the DBV 200 transport + head + power supply or WBA13 transport + head + power suppy. Apparently I can also get a DBV145 head and transport as well but if you upgrade it to the latest $5, it loses the ability to accept $50 and $100's. Prices vary WILDLY it looks like, and I think it's cheaper to wait for deals on ebay or find someone selling these things together, because you get whacked buying each piece individually. This is just going in my basement bar for fun (a very expensive personal piggy bank), but I'm really interested in the machine in general, getting it to work, and how it can be changed to another game. I *REALLY* want to change it to haywire or a double diamond deluxe (or whichever game switched the reels based on the arrows)... I've found the top glass and reel strips, not the belly glass yet... I need to see if I can get the eproms, and am still trying to work out whether or not there's anything special I need to do to convert it (or if it's really possible to be converted to a haywire in the first place). As to who pillaged my machine: The auction company... kinda scumbag move without disclosing, but I guess you should know something about what you're buying, so I put that on me. I have some S+ machines that I want to part out, but shipping might be an issue depending on your location. Title: Re: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! Title: Re: NEW IGT S+ Owner - Looking for Parts + Advice! Post by: nipsmg on January 13, 2014, 03:14:35 PM Ehh doesn't matter anyways. I found the bracket, optics, and comparitor together, so I'm all set there.. I've got lines on the rest of it.. It's going to cost me approx $250 total to make it whole. :-/

Sounds like an inexpensive education in slot repair. |
