So, as my previous post stated, I got the deal of a lifetime on my Game Maker...Paid $75 (+ a $25 fee for the state of Nevada)...I know it was a great deal, but how great?  What are these things worth?  What did you pay for yours?  What would it take for someone to buy it from you?  Just wondering!

Sight unseen, how can anyone make an evaluation?
Would you go out with a girl without looking at her?

I just bought a GM v7000 14" two months ago for $250 and I consider it a great deal. It needed some fixing up, but works perfectly and it came with a dbv200 and new glass (top and bottom).

My opinion only, but I think any price under $400 for a working GameMaker would be considered a great deal (as a customer buying a machine -- not as a wholesaler).  $400-700 would be a good price, and $700+ would be "too much" due to its age.

$75 (or $100, really) was a steal.  Nice job -- you should have gotten more!   :72-

While we're on the subject (sort of) what do the masses ( :96-) think of upgrading a 14" v7000 to an LCD touchscreen? It has been said, as recently as today, that upgrading a Game King to an LCD makes a huge difference, but what about the GameMaker -- and one with the smaller monitor?

Has anyone done this, and is it worth it? 

I would hope to add most of the $550 cost of the monitor to the sale price of the machine if I were to sell it down the road sometime, so I'm asking the question in two ways: Is it worth upgrading from the perspective of "cost of remodeling" vs. resale, and is it worth it from the standpoint of pure increase of graphic quality, playability, and reliability (heat etc.)?

I would equate this to replacing your tube TV with a flat panel LCD......
You will clean up all curent burnin and won't get any in the future.
Per getting out an additional $550.... i somehow doubt it.

If that is your motive then perhaps you would be able to sell your unit for more than what you paid and parlay this into a LCD model for Less than the $550 that you anticipate spending.

What about clarity, color depth and contrast? Are they improved as much on a GM as on a GK? ..or at least enough to be worth while? That was the second side of my question.

     Anyone know the value of this Sigma Bally's Machine? Or, anyone know why a Sigma machine has a Bally's theme? Thanks, David

Jay   you and I and the whole sit know that David has already done the MATH.   He wants you to talk him into the upgrade,   you know twist his arm just a little bit  Buzz

It's not a Bally (manufacturer) theme.  It's a Sigma machine called Treasure Tunnel with custom graphics for the Bally's Hotel.

I paid $650 for mine 12 months ago in southern CA.  Last week I saw one advertised on Craig's List for $300 in southern CA.  I guess the bad economy is forcing resale prices lower.
