Title: SOLVED:Cannot make progress on 61 Error- holding white button - NO ding, NO 61-1 Post by: nipsmg on January 21, 2014, 11:03:17 PM EDIT: SOLVED!!! -- disconnected door optic, closed door, turned reset key once. The game came to life. Now if I can figure out how to add credits!!! :(
I have a IGT S+ 5 Times Pay Game prom 731, Reel Prom 6273. I finally got all the parts I needed including comparitor, coin optics, hopper, coin tray, you name it, I had to get it. Anyways, I was getting an error 12 on boot, so I installed a new battery and got a 61. I've tried the reset procedure... Hold the white button for 2-3 seconds (hell, I've held it for a minutes)... nothing. Checked all cables, working. Tried every solution I could find on the boards. Finally found someone with the same error who could not clear their 61, and they were recommended to run the CLEAR chip procedure. I recently got a clear and set chip... so i tried that path. Installed the clear chip, display read 0, pushed the white button, winner paid showed 1, numbers in the other window, then 2, and numbers in the other window that settled on 999 and stopped. No change for quite some time. Powered down, replaced the game prom, and got the 61 again. Same issue, cannot get 61-1 to appear. no "Ding" when I hold down the white button. Any suggestions? I cleared it several times, then removed the cmos eprom and re-seated it. Maybe it was corroded but after that the white button worked. I had even taken apart the switch assembly to check the button. Try removing and re-seating all the connections on machine side of the circuit board also.
