Title: Looking for advice on my first slot machine Post by: Simple Sam on January 28, 2014, 03:25:44 AM I've recently purchased a home in Reno and thought a slot machine would be a great addition to our family room as a decoration and some fun for family and friends. It's been a long time since I've actually played slots because I'm not a gambler so I'm not that familiar with all the various machines in casinos. I've read Rick's Noob Guide and poked around on the websites of some of the vendors on this website. I think an IGT S2000 is probably what I will purchase; they aren't too expensive, they are readily available in ready to play condition, and should be reliable. Is this a good choice for a first, and probably only, machine?
I am thinking of a simpler three reel, two or three coin, single pay line machine since I don't need the sophistication that the five reel, multiple pay line machines. Is there any reason that I might prefer the five reel instead of the three reel? Are there any particularly good game titles for a three reel machine? Should I get the coin in/out option? When I played slots, it was in the days when all machines used coins. A big part of the excitement of a casino was hearing the jingling (and thunking of $1) of the coin payouts. I think I'd like that in my home but are there a lot of problems with coin operation? Are there any links to reviews of the used slot machine vendors? Thanks for any guidance you can provide :162- Title: Re: Looking for advice on my first slot machine Post by: Neonkiss on January 28, 2014, 09:52:59 AM S2000 with three reels will fit your needs.
Find one setup for dollar tokens with the coin gear and hopper installed. As far a game themes in three reel there are plenty and some of the older games are actually better. Those have game specific sound simms for the game. Next since you'll be feeding the game coins, stick with a single line game with 2 or 3 coin max bet. A 5 or 9 line game will get old having to put that many coins in for each spin. |
