Title: Door optics Post by: slotmani on February 05, 2014, 07:55:01 PM I bought some spare optics for the main door , but how do you tell which one goes where? They look the same and the wire colors don't match the plugs where the machine door has green(blue tracer) and red (white tracer) wires and the cabinet has purple and green wires where the optics one has a black and red wire and the other has a white and red?
Title: Re: Door optics Post by: bhinkley on February 05, 2014, 09:12:15 PM I never use them. I actually bypass them, but I believe the one that the glass is round like a dome goes on the door side if I remember right.

Title: Re: Door optics Post by: bhinkley on February 05, 2014, 09:25:43 PM You don't need to splice the green and purple together either.
Title: Re: Door optics Post by: slotmani on February 05, 2014, 09:28:03 PM When you by pass them like this ,do you leave them pluged in?
Title: Re: Door optics Post by: bhinkley on February 05, 2014, 10:15:45 PM No. You can have them removed. The cherry switch functions as the door switch like this.
Title: Re: Door optics Post by: slotmani on February 05, 2014, 10:39:02 PM OK, but in the picture where the red and green go into a block and the purple and green go into a block do you connect them together there ? other wise they would be open?
Title: Re: Door optics Post by: bhinkley on February 05, 2014, 10:41:54 PM The red and green are connecting to terminals on the back of the cherry switch. The other green and purple can be connected together or left seperate. It will work both ways. That just completes the loop through all the switches and optics that you bypassed.
Title: Re: Door optics Post by: stayouttadabunker on February 06, 2014, 01:55:33 PM Boy...I haven't seen that drawing since I made it a few years ago!
I think I should update it with better drawings now and with 3D Molex housing drawings. The housings have a pointy side as well so you don't plug in the optics backwards. BTW The door and cabinet-side optic harness themselves have entirely different wire colors to further confuse us! :72- The two wires going to the door emitter optic are red and black, with the black wire going to the pointy side of the 2-pin Molex housing. The two wires going to the cabinet-side reciever optic are red and white, with the red wire going to the pointy side of its 2-pin Molex housing! Click on picture below to enlarge if needed...>>> |
