Title: Bally Bonus Times programming help Post by: Endslots on February 21, 2014, 01:01:49 AM Well, I successfully have hit one too many buttons trying to solve one problem.
My greasy little fingers have gotten me into trouble. My original issue was that every time I put a bill into the bill acceptor, it just rang out the quarters as opposed to giving me credits for the bills. i.e. if I put in $5 it shot out 20 quarters. So in my infinite wisdom (stupidity) I managed to disengage the bill acceptor all together. So....problem #1, the bill acceptor doesn't light up anymore or work. (hitting random buttons in the test mode is never a good thing) Problem # 2, once someone helps me with this setting, can they make it so the bills give credits and not coins. Maybe a picture of the machine might make it easier for someone to help this dummy out. I am going to try and attach a pic of the machine. :279- Thanx Title: Re: Bally Bonus Times programming help Post by: bruno on February 21, 2014, 01:50:19 AM Hi,
Press the TEST button until the message center display 11d : first option is 27 Then press MAX BET button to advance to option 11 / 0000 is coins from hopper - 0001 is credits to credit meter (use SPIN button to change) Then close the door : option that you've modified is OK. Just did that. I am assuming that that is the option to enable cash to credits, as opposed to cash to change. The bill validator/acceptor still isn't lit up. Doesn't have the green lights on....hence the issue I created and added to my original issue. I think I changed something to disable the bill acceptor. Is there a setting to turn the bill validator back on? Title: Re: Bally Bonus Times programming help Post by: bruno on February 21, 2014, 02:53:53 AM OK, have you recently performed a safeRAM clear ? Have you changed something on DIP switch inside the MPU (DS2 / Switches 5 & 6) ?
Check the wiring on the BVA. If you're sure that you just change a few things by using test #11, the best is to do a complete safeRam clear, so game options are restored to factory default, and after that you can adjust your own settings. The last thing I want to do is make things worse than I have. The wiring is all 100%, Like I said, I think while stupidly looking thru the test settings, I changed something and disabled the validator. Title: Re: Bally Bonus Times programming help Post by: Endslots on February 21, 2014, 05:16:59 AM I looked through the settings which were very helpful.
Thanx for sending the manual. I will have to read more in-depth into it because I couldn't find a setting to turn the bill acceptor on or off. I did notice when going thru the test modes that the bill acceptor lights up and recognizes the correct currency amounts. Just when the door is closed the acceptor lights are off and doesn't seem active. No switches or wires were tampered with so I have to assume it was an accidental setting change somewhere. Thank you again for forwarding me the manual. I will keep working on it. Title: Re: Bally Bonus Times programming help Post by: Endslots on February 21, 2014, 07:14:15 PM *UPDATE*
I have read through the manual that "bruno" has graciously sent me and reviewed all my settings. Quarters seem to work fine and the machine seems to function properly. When in the test mode, the bill acceptor seems to recognize bills and lights up. With the door closed though, all lights seem to be off for the bill acceptor and it seems like its disabled. Am I missing a step to re-install the bill acceptor? As a note, nothing mechanically has been changed, modified or adjusted. Just foolishly somewhere in the settings mode, I have apparently disabled the bill acceptor. As stated above, in test 4d I believe it is, the bill validator recognized bills, lights up. HELP me! haha! note: Don't ever mess with what you don't know without asking someone. |
