Title: Bally 5000+ changing game chips
Post by: Hotrod on April 27, 2009, 06:58:38 PM
I have the reels strips, glass and (4)  chips for another game for my Bally 5000+.  How hard is it to change the chips?  The numbers on the chips are worn and are hard to read.  Do they go into certain slots and in certain order on the MPU board?

Yes the chips will have a board location number on them (at least mine do). Its usually a U and then a number. Then on the board you will see the chipset location that matches them. Its very important that you put the correct chips in the correct spots if you want it to work. Also make sure you put them in the right direction (there is a tab on one side of the chip) if you put them in backwards you can fry your chips.

I have a regular Bally 5000 not the + but I'm pretty sure they are the same.
