Post by: MALA on May 03, 2009, 09:58:29 AM
One more question.

Do you know if led buttons for mame cab works like in Bezel lamps?
I mean light flash if you press the buttons?

If you put lighted buttons in your mame the standard mame-games don't have any facility to turn them on/off as they are simply emulating the keyboard.
I am sure you could run a wire to a power source so when you pushed the FIRE button the LED lit up but it would be the button controlling the light vs the game.

If you are talking about the PE+ emulator I am not sure if they have written a special driver for this which I would think would require another peice of hardware.

If you are a programmer there is a MAME interop project floting out there on the net.  I have successfully been able to catch signals for each of the outputs on the PE+ games... it would thenbe simple to write something to use an LEDWiz, etc. to light the buttons.

Hope one day it will be possible to have the led emulated in mame.

Well, after a long wait.. I have gotten back into working on this project.  The coding is almost done, and the interface is looking pretty snazzy.  The LEDs you see go right along with the game, so when you insert a coin, the credit meter goes down, and vice versa.  pretty cool...

The coding for this is taking a long time.  I know this might not be the best place to put this, but would there be anyone out there that would want this?  Because of all the work involved, what would you think would be a fair price for the integration interface?

That is neat looking, but the PE+ machines never had LED displays like you created -- all of the information (credits, winner paid, coins played current game, coins played previous game) appear on the screen.  What you see on the MAME screen is exactly what the actual machine displayed in the casino -- they had no external display for that information.

Yes,  I did know this, but this is the easiest way for me to be able to keep track of credits, etc. so that I can control the buttons with lights, accept bills and print cashout tickets.  I modeled it off of a S+ or S2000 led screen so it would keep with the IGT theme.

If you could have a print ticket credit. it would be usefull.

MALA,

This is actually something I am working on... I have some of the slot tickets, and a thermal printer (you can buy one on eBay for about $30, instead of the high proce od the futurelogic ones.  I am looking to put something with all of this together.  Had some family issues lately, so I haven't made much progress on it, but I'll keep everyone informed when progresss is made.
