Title: What is your dream slot?
Post by: jdkmunch on May 09, 2009, 12:07:27 AM
If money and space weren't an issue what would be your absolute must have knock down drag out favorite slot to own?

For me it would be this machine I played that was a three reel regular slot that had this transparent screen over the reels.  You almost didn't notice that it was there until the machine went into bonus mode - it made the reels change and placed a bonus round over the reels and was a lot of fun to play.  I didn't notice who made it but the technology was really cool.

My wife is much simpler -  she likes the cash crop  -- wms 550 i think

I have to agree Tac that Star Wars and Wizard of OZ are definetely on the cutting edge of the next generation of slots.....I love sitting there and losing my money...one of the few machines I can say that you can sit there and enjoy not winning.    :72-

Wonder if I can fit one of those through my front door  :103-

Wizard of Oz video BB2
Star Trek video BB2
WOF Super Spin video with 9 seats

 Yeah, baby!!

I was waiting to see how long it would take someone to include the giant WOF "slot" station.

That's definitely on my list, too, with seating for two at each station.
A bank of three or four 3-reel WOFs hooked up to a server with the proper WAP software and a nice 2 x 4 overhead sign driven by a con2i, with decent odds of hitting the thing. Naturally, my Super Spin WOF station would also be hooked into this. :5-

I've never even played Star Trek BB2 yet, but it has to be on my list as well.
A really huge 4-reel Big Bertha with a giant handle and some personality.
A bank of machines of any game with 5 physical reels and transmissive reel glass technology and a large LCD above for common multi-player bonus rounds.
A full-time staff of beautiful women in sexy outfits serving me and my friends drinks and food while we play.

At that point, I might as well own a casino, so... :79- How about a billion dollars so I can buy a nice LV strip property?  :97- :97- :72- :72-  -- Oh wait! Then I woudn't be able to play at all due to Nevada gaming regulations. :37- :37-  and I definitely wouldn't be able to open up the machines and get my money back like I would in my mansion.  :97- :97-

Wow - great looking Tabasco game!  I have a 3 reel version, but the 5 reel with video screen...now I'm jealous.

One machine I have always wanted has been an Odyssey...I actually got to play one in a real casino at the Luxor in Vegas.  Sadly, the next time I was there...they were all gone - thanks IGT!  I'm not sure why I want one with the problems they have, lack of parts, not being able to update the bill validator, etc...but I am sure someday I will pick one up...just haven't seen one for the right price in my area.

Wheel of Fortune would always be nice too....you always want what you can't have :)

Someone beat me to it.  I was going to say the big, fat, ginormous Wheel-of-Fortune machine with tons of seating.  I LOVE that game.  Well, you said money and room no object, LOL.  Other than that I would love to have a Jackpot Stampede Deluxe game.  I am close though with a Big Bang Piggy Bankin', Jackpot Party and Jackpot Deluxe dotmation games.  But really, most of the machines we have now are the games we have always enjoyed more than others.

So who has one of them WOF games they need to store somewhere??  I have a half acre.  Maybe someone works at a casino and can leave one of them out back by the dumpster for me to pick up, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I reckon I'd have to say 3cm Triple Double Wild Cherry Deluxe Haywire with Mystery Reel Action including Spin Till You Win feature.

If anyone runs across one of these whether in a casino or elsewhere, PLEASE let me know!   :5- :5- :5-

Stat,

You mentioned a billion dollars to buy your own strip casino.....ever since the MGM group announced it is considering selling off some properties I have been interested in the Beligio.
The TI sold for 775m, so 1 to 1.2b seems a reasonable price tag for the Beligio.

To cover a billion in cost you don't need a billion, you only need to cover the interest on a billion.... and a fair bit of those carrying costs could be covered under a private offering.
6% on 1 billion = 600,00 or 50,000 per month. Theoretically I would normally only need prove I could cover the carrying charges + cost of operations.

So if I could get a Fed backed loan (as who in their right mind is going to "lend" me 1b) I could probably lower those costs to about 2% - 2.5% or about 22k per month.

Since we were able to raise money for Joeys toppper so I am hoping the NLG gang can chip in here too.....
1. Money.. I will back all buy-the-beligio contributed funds in equivelent to free rooms at $200/night. Ie give me 1K - you get 5 free nights.
2. Anyone got any connections in the Fed ?
3. I will refund all monies (less 18%) if the bid for the Beligio doesn't go ahead.
    - The 18% is cover bid, legal costs etc.

Stat has been nominated as treasurer.... Oz for floor manager, Joey head of slot maintainence, and I will take applications for other senior board postitions.

I'm in, but I'll want 49.9% ownership (you can maintain control of the company) and will participate in raising capital and obtaining Federal backing. We should meet privately as I have some ideas on increasing the property's income stream. I suggest that we meet at the Bellagio so that we can survey the property thoroughly while discussing our plans. I also suggest that we sample the cuisine from each of the hotel's fine dining establishments to assess and re-evaluate the role of each location in our future plans. I will also arrange a tour of operations and a thorough inspection of the company's books.

I wouldn't think so because I was a fan of the WOF slot way before I started collecting. I still play it every time I'm in a casino. One day I will hit the "1000" and then I will probably never play it again! LOL...

Yeah, I think its the sound effects and the bonus wheel that gives it the appeal, maybe thats why I really like the super spin, cause its a reall big wheel!!  :5-

I agree. I liked WOF before joining NLG, and I don't even like the WOF game show all that much!  :30- :97-  (I prefer Jeopardy and often tune into something else when wheel comes on).
It's all about the chant, the spin, and the other sound effects, and more recently, that BIG wheel. :96-

That huge wheel would be cool in the house - the life size one they have with 8  or 12 games around it!

There was also a Jeopardy bonus top IGT game around that was very popular in the late 90's.  Does anyone have one of these?  I don't remember if they were an exclusive WAN progressive or not.

2. Munsters Video
3. Sopranos

The Sopranos slot: If you win, there are no income taxes, but you have to give Tony Soprano his 30% cut, or they break your arms and legs and shoot up your house AND your kneecaps. If you lose on credit, then it's 130% interest at 2.5% weekly or they break your arms, legs and balls, shoot your kneecaps on the way out as an afterthought, and THEN take your car and business. :14-  :14-   :107-
It also cheats. :96- :96-

I should add machines that are realistically obtainable and would like to own:

1.  Flip Flop (S+ with anchor gaming top)
2.  A nicely working Odyssey.
3.  Bluebird cabinet with dual screens.

I used to love those white gloves with nobody in them dealing me three-dimensional cards!  :89- :89-

I also used to clean up on the Safe Cracker game by looking for machines that were short only one or, at most, two numbers. Then I'd play until I hit the bonus and leave the now empty combination to the tourists to fill in.

 Dan (tacman)
It was a slant top with an actual vertical pinball playfield built by Williams. It had Williams flippers too. The ball was not steel, but a hollow composite of some sort. By searching the net I found that it looks like it came in at least three versions, Play Pinball, Pinball Wizard, and Cash Ball. I remember the Play Pinball version.
They were added to IGT and Bally's slant tops.
It was a four quarter machine with a pinball bonus symbol on the third reel or maybe a fourth reel? When you hit it the machine said; "Let's play pinball." You launched the ball and racked up the score. If your score matched the machine's randomly selected score you won big. Can't remember it all, but a lot of fun, several years ago.
On the old forum someone had a pic of one of the versions. But I can't find any.  :37-

I checked, and I never downloaded that picture.  :8-

WHAT!!!! You didn't download it!!!! NO WAY!!! Bad Stat, Bad Stat!!! I thought that you had everything downloaded!  :97- :97- :97-

CaptainHappy :95-

P.S. I didn't DL it either!  :72- I guess I could have just said that or ditto, but thats not near as fun!!!  :97- :97- :97-

Never give up I say! Searched Google - no luck, searched Ask.com - no luck, and then Yahoo, found it!!!

Here is a picture of Randy Adams standing in front of the pinball slot. Randy was at Universal in 1984 when he and Gary Harris introduced the virtual stop slot with stepper reels. He moved to Anchor Gaming and is seen here introducing the pinball slot at the 1997 gaming expo.  :3- :3-

Here are more photos from the same 1997 gaming expo.

The first is a WMS display of a X-Factor slot along with Go-Go dancers in the background. How come I didn't them at Joey's 4th bash when I played x-factor?

The second is a picture of the evil emperor from the dark side.  :97-  Oh wait, that's Si Redd founder of IGT.
IGT introduced the Vision machine at this expo.

To cover a billion in cost you don't need a billion, you only need to cover the interest on a billion.... and a fair bit of those carrying costs could be covered under a private offering.
6% on 1 billion = 600,00 or 50,000 per month.
Nobody caught this - not even you, Statfreak, and you'd go into business with Jay on these figures? Shame on you for not exercising due diligence. 6% on 1 billion is sixty million, or five million a month. I take it that means your stake in the Bellagio is actually closer to 0.049%  :72-

Nice pic of the Dark Lord up above. I was working at Infinity that year and I ran into an elderly geezer who looked exactly like him in the corridor one day. He greeted me by name like he knew me, which was so strange I made it my business to find out who he was. That's when I found out Infinity was an off-the-record Si Redd company, and our absentee owner knew exactly who worked for him.

Well, in my defense, it's all fake money anyway. :96-  The closest that I'll ever get to a billion dollars, or 50-million, for that matter, will be seeing a picture on television of our government delivering truckloads of money to starving financial institutions and needy dictators of third world countries. Me? I get $25 extra dollars in my check. :5- Not that I'm complaining, mind you; it's better than nothing, but a stimulus  to the economy? Not in my case, as I am currently hording it under my old, used, lumpy mattress and faded sheets.  :58-

It's impressive that he would know everyone by sight. That's quite a step above just knowing his employees' names.

When I bought my first S+ (RT H-Dlx), the seller gave me a line about how it had been in Si Redd's personal collection. Too bad it was just a BS sales tactic.

Well, since we're dreamin'... the slot I've most enjoyed playing (losing @) & would LOVE to own:

WMS Wizard of OZ
&
the 'next generation' of it??:  Wizard of Oz / Wicked Riches

Slot Store owner here says has seen the 'original' WMS WoOz on resale market, but they're wanting $30k right now for it... just a BIT out of the budget range!
LOL!

Oh, another would be the 'Hot Reel'? version of GRIFFIN'S GATE (or Zeus II, or Hearts of Venice) -- all gates in 1st row triggers bonus spins...

Well....I have a dream slot now, but I'm sure that one will be pale in comparason to what I will see in a few hours at the G2E here in Las Vegas.I will be armed with a camera (hope they allow that).
If your going to be there, look for an OLD buzzard (with a young chick/wife) in tow wearing a Motorola UHF AstroSaber radio on his left hip, that will be me.

I have only seen one of these at the Atlantis in Reno and that was an bank of ELVIRA's. It was a couple of years ago. I am a big fan on hers but I really like the slot. Was in the casino yesterday but I couldn't find one. They seem to be just like the Men in Black, they just disappeared. Too high of lease or what?

Was in a new (re-opened) casino in Phoenix area a couple of weeks ago & there were these machines that looked like had 4 games going in 1 screen -- screen had 4-quadrants with the same slot game going in each area...

Looked like Cleopatra in one bank -- couldn't see the others the machines were so crowded.... Could never get on to play them...

What the heck are these???

These are IGT's new line of AVP 3.0 machines. This one happens to be Wolf Run, it has the Dynamic Buttons that are like individual programable LCD screen! This model is the G22 slant top.

Kinda like triple poker, it is QUAD video slot! (It will suck your money down faster!!! They love it!!!)

BOBODUDE may recognize the area the picture came from as it is in the Atlantis in Reno near the Purple Parrot Restaurant.

This IS my dream machine, just very pricey!!!!  :25- :8- :8- :8- :30-

OK so it's been a long long time since I been in here, I think before Thanksgiving but if you only knew what was going on around here.   :99-

So I met up with jstraa (NLG member) and his GF, Sacha, and I have to say they are fantastic people.  Anyway while in Vegas meeting up with them I got a chance to see some of the new games that are out there and this would definately be my dream slot.  Slingo. There were a buch of real fun video type games and not being a fan of video they were pretty darn fun.  But that's a different story.  So the question of dream slot, this is it but I would take a vision slingo to if I could find one, preferable the kit since I already have the vision case to put it in. :5-
