Title: Noisy DBV 200 Transport Post by: Magicslots on May 10, 2009, 11:24:57 PM S+ DBV200 with new updated eprom, head is functioning o.k. , the transport is sometimes very noisy when feeding bills to the cashbox. Sometimes it sounds like gear chatter, but I can not find any loose gears or missing teeth. Belts are in good condition and all was recently cleaned. Is there some special grease or lubricant for the gears?
The problem is intermittent, but makes noise more often than not. Title: Re: Noisy DBV 200 Transport Post by: blueridgeslots on May 11, 2009, 07:58:46 PM Sounds like it is not pushed back far enough or the tangs may be broken on the front where the thumb screws are/should be, the noise is probably the gear to the cash box hitting the frame opening on the left rear corner
Title: Re: Noisy DBV 200 Transport Post by: Jim on May 12, 2009, 03:04:10 PM Have had many do the same, if the transport does not fit into the two slots on the back of the housing then it will hit the front part of the square opening where the gears mesh and thus the noise. Igt did a modification to the opening by cutting a "v" shaped wedge in the housing, this compensated for the unit not sitting flush in the back as well as the screws missing on the front. You can do the same thing, remove the transport/ cash can housing , one or two screws on the side, and one or two on the backwall (use a hardened #1 phillips screwdriver, these screw heads strip out very easy) unplug the connector and remove. Using a Dremel tool with a disc cutter, shape the opening from the rectangle it is, to the added "v" shape toward the front. You can actually put the cash can and transport in the housing outside the machine and see exactly what is happening , and what you have to do to correct it. Takes about 1/2 hour to do this.

I could not figure out why 2 out of 3 BV units were very noisy, even though they were clean and everything moved smoothly. I cut that opening a little using a metal 'nibbler tool', so it only took a minute and I didn't have to take anything apart. Now they all run equally quiet. :3-

But for those that don't know, or for reference, here is what a nibbler tool looks like. It is used to cut thin metal by 'nibbling' small pieces off. The top part shows that I already made the rectangular hole where the gear fits bigger, and the bottom just shows how I was able to fit the tool in from the cash box area without having to take it apart.
