Title: Bally S6000: Need base level assistance
Post by: dcslots on May 11, 2009, 11:52:47 PM
HI just received some Bally S6000 from a casino that are in great condition.  They came off the floor, where they were working they day before I received them.

They were working on a SAS 6.0 System, full TiTo.

The last Bally I wokred on was the S5500, so these are kind of alien to me.

The property I got them from had said I did not need clear chips for these to reset them (which seemed odd to me).   Well I have tried to do a reset without any chips with only mixed success.  The game will start up and play, but when I hit cash out, it gives an error code for printer out of paper, but there is paper in the printer.

So what I am asking for is:

1) Is it possible that a Bally S6000 can be ram cleared without clear chips?

2) How would I clear the printer paper issue.

3) Can someone give me the simple direct step by step instructions (assume I am a TOTAL idiot) on how to reset these machines and set them up for hand pay.

to start off with, here is are the procedures for the 3 ways to clear ram;
1. complete ram clear (requires ram clear chips)
2. full ram clear (need same chips)
3. partial clear (needs chips as well)

without chips you can try removing U30 and U35 (ram) and grounding out.

Will post the whole setup for your machine tomoz....................by the way what printer is installed in your machine  ??? Ithaca (model) or Seiko :103- :103-

cheers

Ozzy

Maker sure you get ram chips that are "2006" or newer.  The reset procedure is similar to a 5500 - you put the chips in then hold down pseudo and test until you clear.

Hi Ozzy,

Thanks for the help on this.  The printer is a Seiko Gen 1.

jdkmunch: Thanks for the heads up on that one, I read your earlier posts so I know you can relate to my headache.

Hello!

You probably already checked this - but I did it the first time - and if these machines are new to you - who knows?  Make sure you have the paper in the printer the right way.  Silly me saw the "This Side Up" and put it in my printer that way....I believe I got a "Out of paper" error too (I'm talking about an IGT).  Wouldn't hurt to try it both/all ways :)

Aw, come on. Didn't you know that the "This Side Up" labels only applied to the way that they packed them inside the box for shipping from the factory? lol. :25- :30- :97- :97- :97- :97-

It's a conspiracy, a plot to confuse home slot owners!  :5- The old paper ploy!

YES.....it seems that wihtout a SAS system talking to the machine, it wil only allow a reset with the chips...learn something new every day.   From that point, it was pretty friendly with the set up, defaulted to hand pay, etc.  And now, life is good in the kingdom once more.

Thank you all.
